Well I got it wired in. Now when I turn on my inverter it instantly trips the gfci on the inverter lol.
I got the "dogbone" that takes it from three wire 120v to four wire 120/220v. Everything else works on the inverter. I double checked my wiring, everything works on the line side of the transfer switch. The manufacturer says in the instructions that some Honda generators will do this because of a neutral/ground bond issue. I have yet to try the generator as it is winterized. Could my inverter have the same deal as the Honda generators? Could I just remove the gfci and install a regular receptacle?
Sorry for all the newb questions. Trying to do this right.

The only neutral to ground bond was on the gfci in the inverter. Still having issues with nuisance tripping on the AFCI breakers. I think I will call in professional help to be safe.

When I switch from utility to generator it trips the AFCI. If I turn the panel power off reset the breakers, turn the power back on it's fine. Until I put a load on the circuit then it trips the AFCI again, even though I'm on solar power. It's not a big deal I just have to reset the breakers when I switch back to utility power. I checked my panel and the neutral bonding screw is removed , I remember doing it. I read on the interweeb about a guy that had the same issue. It was a pinched wire in the transfer switch. I will let the pro have a look at it to be safe and have peace of mind.

not entirely sure what a pro will be able to do for you. I know in my old house I would get nuisance afci trips when on generator power

It will allow me to sleep at night. When you had nuisance trips were you able to reset your AFCI breaker? Or did it just trip again?

That is exactly what is happening. Thank you sir!!!
It is sweet having it up and running. I ran 32' of t-8 32w bulbs, my radiant tube heater, my garage door opener twice, my radio and my under cabinet lights for at least six hours yesterday. Battery bank hardly noticed it.

GFCI (internal logic circuitry) has taken many years to mature and is now at the point of being fairly stable................AFCI is quite a few years behind so good luck with transients, electrical storms, etc.................

Regarding the neutral, ground -----Since you're in Canada I'm not sure how NEC and local codes play, but subpanels require a SEPARATE neutral and ground and it's always a good idea to get several nice new ground rods out there also...............

Yes it is the same code here as far as neutral/ground. My panel is grounded to my underground gas line as this is what the electrical inspector wanted.
I also still have to ground my inverter , and when it warms up I will drive ground rods for my solar panels and inverter. I just ran a ground for my inverter to my garage door track for now.
