Just saw this on FB. $3 rebate on a can of TruFuel.
Available at most of your local home centers and auto parts stores.

I did not see Ace Hardware listed.

Rebates available on purchases from 9/25 to 10/31/2024.

More info at trufuel50.com

Guess if you can't get non ethanol fuel around you parts, then it's worth it. Lucky, for me my local Buc-ees sell non-ethanol gas. So I can mix a gallon of 50:1 for a tad over $4.20

I keep a can on the shelf that way I know I've got enough fuel on hand to cut my way to the road after a storm.

Good guarantee knowing that bottle is in the back of the shelf

Rebate? Sure!

Thanks, I need to get some. My Stihl dealer recommended running a few oz of this through each machine before winter storage.

ETA I do run it dry at the end of the season. I should be draining the carbs as well but since I run Stabil 360 in my gas cans I haven’t had any issues in the past. I think that is where the dealer’s recommendation for the trufuel comes from.

For long term storage (more than 30 days) drain the tank and run the carb dry.

IMHO, there is nothing wrong with E10. I have been using it in all my outdoor power equipment since it has become the only fuel commonly available in my area (over 2t years).

The issue is running the carb dry doesn't get all of the fuel out. So unless there's a drain (like snowblowers) you still have a big water absorbing clump sitting.

Not an issue if things are stored in a moderate climate and used once or twice a year, imo, but ethanol free will sit for years, gas on/off (if applicable) without issue or performance loss.

I do still mix (with ethanol free) due to having 2 cycle snow throwers, but all of my saws and trimmers get TruFuel, since they sit for extended periods.

I think he’s referring to the bowl on the carburetor still having fuel inside even after you run it dry. That is what I was referring to.
Bingo! Drain, shutoff, whichever then run until it dies - the carb still isn't going to be dry. That water-sucking residue seems to be worse than leaving the fuel on IMO (other than risk of the float sticking and gas everywhere.

Im not sure if any of my yard equipment has seen ethanol, but I've never done a single thing other than change the oil...

All my yard equipment runs on E10 including my rototiller with a classic 5 HP Briggs& Stratton. You can't drain the tank and the tank IS the bowl. Start first or second pull every spring !

I got one rebate two days ago. I sent a second one in right at the end of the promo. I’m hoping they honor it too.
Thanks for the reply. I guess I should give it some more time. I had actually forgotten about it until I saw the receipt for the purchase today.

Well I still haven't received anything in the mail regarding my rebate. I tried calling them with no success thus far. I guess I can try an email. Rapidly losing hope at this point.

That's why I hate rebates. Sure, you might eventually get it, but waiting for sometimes 6-9 months or more for one is just ridiculous. I won't do them anymore unless the rebate makes the item nearly free.

Good luck to you.
