I ordered one of each in red. I have some hammers in each of the colors, but I figured red would be the best choice since thats what a majority of my TC hammers is.

Are there any plans for a 24oz weight stubby? I use that size the most and prefer the shorter 10" handle length.

There are no plans right now for a 24oz stubby. We're making adjustments now in production to make a general product offering on the current stubbies. The full line of flat-flat hammers will follow.

I've had several questions about a smaller ball peen in the 8oz range. This size is unlikely because of the light weight. We'd have trouble making a hammer this size that has dead blow action.

How about using tungsten powder or shot instead of steel? Might be worth experimenting with if you guys have any spare time. Just a thought. ;)

We're going to be having a quarterly newsletter. The first edition of this newsletter will come out in April. We're going to announce new products in the newsletter. If anybody has feedback on the stubbies, particularly pertaining to a specific application/use, I'd be happy to hear it. We might include this feedback in our newsletter. We're going to be rotating feedback on our website on the main hammer page (new post yesterday), and we're going to be adding content to the individual hammer pages. We never post feedback without getting permission, and I can find a way to reward a person for using his/her feedback on our site. A PM or email with stubby feedback would work for me.

Thanks.

It's my turn now! I got a package today from a forum member. Here's the photo--64 ounces of Pure Vermont liquid heaven.

We'll be running green next week, and we have the parts to make some more stubby ball peens and flat-flat hammers. If theSorceress has told you we're out, we'll have some more in stock soon.

I used the Stubby BP about a week ago to drive out some splined strut bolts in a tight space. The short handle got it in there and the heavy head weight allowed it to drive them out. I have a 3lb cross peen with a longer handle that I normally use for that sort of thing but the long handle meant I was taking baby taps at it since I could barely get any swing.

I just talked to the Sorceress this morning to get on the list for the next batch of green flat-flat stubbies.

Now that's what the stubby was made for...

Got to use one of my stubbies the other day when doing an upper control arm. Man was it convenient to be able to get in there. Thanks again.

I know it's been mentioned on one of these many Trusty Hammer threads, but I assume TC makes SK's dead blows? Surprised you don't use a dark green for them.

Got mine in today. The heft was a good bit heavier than I was expecting. I had great interactions with TC customer service, and based on their great presence here I don't doubt it matched the specs.

But I was expecting the shorter handle would make it feel a bit lighter when I swung it compared to a longer, higher-leverage hammer with the same head weight. Didn't feel that much of a difference.

If you guys ever make a stubby with a 16oz head let me know. I'm just not strong enough for the 32oz head I guess. :dunno: And for the type of projects I work on, I need a lighter touch anyway.

A lighter stubby. I kinda like that idea for small projects.

Agreed 100%, felt the same way out of the box. A lighter version would be very desirable and complimentary. Might even like a shorter 0 deadblow.

I was actually wishing the stubby was about a half pound heavier, and I'm not a big guy Haha.

Seems like the ideal solution would be to come out with a whole line of stubbies.

I replaced all the chassis bearings on my utility ATV last weekend and my new blue stubby and the smallest ball peen in the mechanics set (24oz?) got a lot of use. I still used my Estwing driller for working on my Dana 60 though. I think its a bit heavier than the new stubby.

I like these trusty cooks a lot more than my snap on variants because the diameter of the head is close to half that of the snap on. That giant head is nice when you have a lot of room (you don't have to be as accurate), but its not ideal when you're working on a front end. Even on rock crawlers and big trucks I never seem to have enough room.

We've had several recommendations for stubby hammers, and we are listening. We've had some requests for stubby soft face hammers and for stubbies with different weight steel face heads.

We've also had a few requests for a new color or two. I'm pretty certain I'll be posting a hammer of a new color before I'll be posting a new hammer. I quite certain, based on comments in the new color thread, there will be a forum member or two that will like the new color.
