I'm looking for other garages that people have built or seen that are 2 stories and have a car lift in the bottom story.

I'm trying to build a 24 x 32 garage with a second story and a height that is enough for a car lift

The max height i can build in my area is 25'
The max lot blueprint is 800 sq ft

The reason I'm looking here is because I can't seem to find any plans online.

Thanks.:rocker:

Mine is 20x26 and 20 at the peak with 14' side wall height. I have a mid-rise lift and set the upper level floor at just over 10' high and still have plenty of headroom upstairs. If you are wanting to use a full rise lift I would go with a 25' peak with maybe a 16' side wall height and run the upstairs floor at 12 or 13 feet high.

Our City in Michigan would only allow detached garages to be 14' max and I knew I wanted to put a lift in it. I also knew I wanted overhead storage and a place to hide the furnace. I got creative with my 24x26 garage and used Storage Trusses on the left side and Vaulted Trusses on the right side which allows a height clearance under a lift to be a full 74". Also, the best, best, best possible decision I made was to use Vapor Lock Enhanced Concrete for the slab on ground floor. There is zero moisture emitted from the concrete. VLEC is a concrete admixture that waterproofs and vapor proofs concrete. The best $300 I spent. Good luck

I had similar constraints, so did a 2nd story over half my garage and left the other half open for height for lifts.

All of my build pics were lost when I lost a harddrive(thanks modern technology). But I will try to get some shots of the inside this afternoon.

do you have to make it out of wood? or can it be a steel building?

cause with the steel building you wont loose much height due to the roof.

You can do a Mezzanine rather then a full 2nd floor. search garage mezzanine in google lots of things come up for ya.

my shop has 19ft to the eves plenty of room for two stories, i want to put in a mezzanine with an office space some day
