Nice testing method -- I like real world testing, doing stuff that actually happens in the average Joe's garage. Can you show and/or tell us how you sharpen your drill bits? Thanks for the video.

I use a Drill Dr. with inconsistent results. Usually after sharpening, it's about 70% as sharp as it was new and lasts about half as long. By the time I've sharpened any bit in my set three or four times, I've sharpened all of them at least twice. That's when I start thinking about a new set.

I did not... And yeah, I probably should have... I wasn't trying to get too technical. I was just trying to use the bits as I would normally do in a very condensed time period.

I like the idea of that paste. I mostly use Tap Magic and keep little bottles of Craftsman lube handy - never thought about a paste.

I considered a Drill Dr, but since I don't drill many precision holes I just keep extra sets of common sizes up through 1/4, bought at HF with a coupon. When they get a little hinky, toss and re-fill the index with new. I keep a big number+fractional set in reserve for better quality holes.
