Garage is nearing competition and wanted to share. I remember lurker on this forum a long time ago hoping one day I can share a cool garage of my own. So here we are.

Started in October 2022. Laid out a 16x30 area to give me an idea of the space.

Has area dug up for a monolith foundation as required by the town.

Few days later we had concrete forms installed and concrete poured. The excavators messed up and dug the center part to deep and the footing to wide. So I ended up with walls that were 24" wide and 12" deep. The middle slab was between 6-8" thick.

Tuffshed came out and installed garage in a day. There was some hiccups with anchors but that was resolved as well

Up next my father inlaw came out to hook up the 100A service and tuffshed came to install the Insulated Door.

You're braver than I am. I'd be afraid the dark walls and ceiling would soak up too much light. I have over 35 lights in our shop, with wood on 1 1/2 walls, white on the top 2/3s of the rest, tin ceiling, and I still wish I had more light.

I worked with a supplier in China to come up with a configuration to fit my garage. Cost of Product plus express shipping was surprisingly cheap vs buying the same lights on amazon.

Paving company came out and knocked it out. They wheel barrel asphalt around the ground then compacted it down. Then use big machine for the rest. They had left over asphalt so the built me a curb for the grass and filled in my neighbors driveway to help patch up some of their large mud pits.

Great looking space! What are you looking to do (in terms of work) in it? I like the s2000 too!
Just maintenance on our cars and help out friends and family. I mainly wanted the space for a workshop for my 3D Printers, CNC Routers, and Laser machines. My wife is kicking my workshop out of basement. So far we Installed lift kit on ram 1500, full suspension on civic, 5 gallons worth of oil changes. Future plan is to turbo charge the s2000 so will need to drop the trans to upgrade the clutch so maxjax will be great.

After getting some bonkers quotes back for Red Iron buildings, I'm looking at doing exactly what you did with a 20x30 Tuff Shed but I need 12 foot ceilings for my LandCruiser and a lift. Would you mind sharing what this project ended up costing for the building and what did your slab run you? Thank you.

Sorry for the Late Reply.

Very cool build, and a perfect setup for working on pretty much anything a fella would need. I'm jealous of the lift, but know that at 6'2" I would likely need 14' ceilings to pull off a lift in the garage.....hmmm.

I've always lusted after the S2K but the prices for nice used examples is a bit (ok a lot) outside of my budget. Then there is the whole "I'm 6'2" trying to squeeze into an S2K issue". I'm thinking of doing what you did and finding an S2K in need of some love, playing with it a bit to see if I can make myself fit and still feel comfortable driving it.

Looking back, What I wish I would've done was push for higher ceilings but even with the 8' walls I can lift my truck up and still able to slide under it to do oil changes with the oil catch can.

Uh...

Is that a Mazda Miata in your profile?? And you're 6'2"?

How do you squeeze in to that? I'm 6' and I barely fit. My son is a little taller, and he'll only drive it when we have the top off.

Don't get me started on the S2K's...I want one as well.
