In 2009, I suffered a stroke (from aura migraines) and lost everything. I picked myself up as best I could and as a project to help me have peace I created this room. Just thought I would share.

That's a badass place. You should send Tuff Shed some pics they might use your space in ads or something. It makes me rethink my little red shed I have so underappreciated its potential.
If your place wasn't so incredibly AWESOME I would say, build a ladder and connect it to the loft with hinges. Use a rope and some pulley to pull it up out of the way.Its a 10x12. 14 height.
The ladder i use is mounted outside. I would like to have one mounted someway to the loft, but haven't figure out a way to do it, and save space.
Wow....I'm humbled by all the kind comments. Thanks guys.
Been raining last few days so can't take a picture of the outside.....But its pretty much is identical to this one minus the double doors. Mine is a single.

Not yet, but you never know what the future holds. Plus my dog is not about to give up his spot.
Not much to say...so I'll keep it simple. I'm 33, an use to work as an electronic engineer. Always suffered from aura migraines but one 16 hour day at work an I was hit with one that was a doozey. Lost feeling and grip in both hands as well as lost sight. Spent about a week in the hospital recovering. Both feeling and eye sight returned, but still suffer from migraines every few days and blind spots. My hospital bills towered up to 50,000 and up (now days you get sick you go broke) as well my doctors stated I am susceptible to aneurysm, you can get the logistics of the rest.
So long story short, after walking through home depot, trying to think of a way to not be homeless...I saw the sheds which spark the idea. So with what was left in my savings, a close friend of mine allowed me to put the shed in his backyard, with access to house and I've been here ever since.
I like the night lighting behind and below things. How'd you do that?
Is it safe from the prying eyes and ears of the neighbors?
I have to hit the can first thing in the morning. Is it a sprint across the yard for you?
Do you keep clothes, linens and food in the house?
I'm guessing you don't need to have the volume up too far when watching a movie ?
. All kidding aside tho, you are correct. You don't need to have the volume up to much. But if you did, all that insulation I did, really helped to make it noise proof.
Very awesome shed, I don't think I could give enough praise to you for doing this and not becoming a bum. Truly amazing, and very inspiring.
For a ladder to the loft you could do something similar to a boat swim platform ladder. It would obviously need to be a little more sturdy, but something like so:

That or the ones that telescope but just folds between 180* up and down. You could most likely source a heavy duty one, or create one. I think it could work well![]()
