Re: Turner\'s Cube

Popular woodworker's job also. Quick and dirty:

Is it only me, or did anyone else get a little nervous with his finger up against the Forstner bit. At about 4:30 :scared:

In looking at that video, I ran across this one of a Hungarian HellBox. That looks like it would be a fairly cool project out of metal

I have one that goes six "layers", made by hand out of green soapstone-like material. Picked it up during one of my biz trips to China. I'll dig it out and post some pics.

Hey, so I just found this thread, know it's a bit outdated. But I noticed that lots of people were interested in buying one of these little cubes, and nobody seemed to be offering any for sale. Are people still interested? I just made my first, and I could whip up some more. I kind of winged the first one, didn't put too much thought into the ratio of the holes and whatnot, but I'm going to make a design in solidworks to get a nicer looking one next time. But even this one is awesome looking, really fun to watch while you spin it in your fingers. I didn't make the inner cubes free-floating, I think it looks cooler this way, but I'm sure I could figure out how to do that too.
How much would people be willing to shell out for one? I don't have access to a CNC, so it's all by hand... the first one took about two hours, I'd probably be slightly faster in the future. But it's a lot of time, so I'm not going to give them away.
Let me know if anyone's still interested. I can post a picture of the one I've already made, if you want.
