The Yodel guy round here just hides it somewhere and leaves me a note. Didn't work so well when he left one parcel in the recycling bin on recycling day though!

LOL I've heard of couriers doing that -the rubbish bin as well. It defies common sense, but I suppose you don't become a courier because engineering wasn't challenging enough. Yodel's performance doesn't seem to be too far from the typical courier aggravations I suppose, but The Tool Academy's "refund" policy is just shocking :eyecrazy:

Yes, that's pretty shocking, and probably not in line with the distance selling regulations. Not sure what Ebay would say either......?

Have you got the wife hooked on tools now? Or an Xmas present?

LOL no the Mrs definitely isn't hooked, although my 2.5yo boy can name most hand and power tools - not sure where he gets that from? :headscrat It's birthday and Xmas although their email has left such a bad taste it's taken away some of the joy of this gift before it's even arrived.

I think this is the right calendar:
http://www.wera.de/fileadmin/user_upload/homepage/2013/Adventskalender_EN.pdf

I am a little tempted by an offer from Tool Academy on a Facom 1.4" module for £48:
http://www.thetoolacademy.com/product_detail.asp?productId=7297

I bought my Facom 3/8" set off them from Ebay with no bother.

Vantage Tools are doing special offers this weekend. I'm tempted by their 1/4" offers:

http://www.vantagetools.co.uk/socket-sets/195-tt-gcad3102.html
http://www.vantagetools.co.uk/socket-sets/2703-toptul-gcai5102.html

I think I might be good and not buy anything though lol. I just bought this Clarke CEW1000 240v impact wrench last week:

That's the current one I think - but a lot more money of you can manage to get hold of one.

I have that. It doesn't get frequent use, but it's been brilliant when I've needed it.

My first job tomorrow is 8 miles from there, if you can negotiate a buy it now and pay it I could collect. :lol_hitti

I'd still have to get it from you Will and you're not much closer! (if at all?) :)

I don't have the time right now to give it the attention it needs, or a use for it, otherwise I might be motivated. I've not seen one like that pop up before.

Gents,

Cool old Gedore tool chest with tools about 20 miles NE of Birmingham (Appleby Magna?). A bit far for me, but would be great to see someone here get it and clean it up:

Anybody here win it?

I'm going to have a clearout of my excess tools in the next few months, being UK based, would it be ok to post them in here?

I think I've posted links to my ebay listings and nobody has complained. In the interest of neatness, maybe post the links to your detailed listings in the classifieds section? :dunno:

We've tried hard for a non-USA classifieds section, but got no response unfortunately.

As long as the mods are happy - Fire them up!

There have been very few tool deals in the UK this last year.

Cheer us up?!

Or, stick them on eBay give us a link and offer a discount if we buy direct. Anything that keeps money from the eBay/Paypal Corp is good in my eyes.

Ebay is just hateful to deal with got.

I would think it would be fine to sell the odd tool here in this thread.... especially after
we got nowhere with a non USA classified forum, despite CanUK's best efforts.

I actually have a £300 knife I was thinking of selling on here as I can't sell it on ebay.

I'm sure no one would object as long as it's fairly good stuff and not hundreds of posts.

A pic of the embarrassment wouldn't be too bad either... Like maybe a before and after pic to judge just how embarrassing the knife is :DD

^^^ Haha... I just watched that film yet again a few days ago.

Ok... Here it is, let's get this all the way out there...

I decided to buy a really good knife for fishing and bought the knife you see
below... I took it with me once, but I was so worried about dropping it in the sea
I never took it with me again and has sat at home ever since. So I've sharpened
it... looked at it, but it never get's used.... so I might as well sell it.

It is an Extrema Ratio Nemesis that I bought from this place

http://www.heinnie.com/Knives/Extrema-Ratio-Knives/Nemesis/p-92-137-937/

Truly an unbelievable piece of manufacturing, and quality is off the chart, but
I guess you would expect that for £300 ;)

I tried to buy that lovely old gedore trunk, the seller would not take a lower offer and I only wanted the box , I was hoping to offset a little bit of the fuel cost , that's the trouble , any long distance for collection costs more in fuel than the item itself

It should be pinned at the top of the hot deals section. I can never find it when i'm looking for it.

Couldn't you sew your knife into your coat sleeve like kids mittens?

If you look at the blue bar just above the first post on a new page you will see a tab
called "Thread Tools" click on this and three options will pop up. The bottom one is
subscribe to this thread.... Click on this, then when you need to find this thread all
you have to do is click the "User CP" tab on the far left of the black bar and a list of
all subscribed threads will be right there..... No searching required.

I have dropped a message to the admins, hopefully we can come up with a solution.

Oh and I'll need to shift some as I've just invested in a new rollcab for work...

Cheers Mate!

If you are looking to get the best price for cutlery try Gunstar!

Although it's obviously gun orientated, they have a good knife section. You can just put up a classified with a coupla pics and go from there! There's a lot of throughput on that site!

HALFORDS SALE!!!!

They have all the professional socket sets on offer :)

The good old Halfords half price sale.....

The only thing I really hate about Halfords sale prices, is the fact that's the
price they always intended to be sold at...

Case in point..... their 3/4" socket set was for years priced at £99.99 regular
price, but it was never ever included in their half price socket set sale offers...
Then suddenly a while ago, it just doubled to £199.99.

Then wouldn't you know it the next half price sale they had, just a little while
later, it was included for the first time..... 50% off down to only £99.99 bargain.

I'm not knocking it, because the professional range is excellent quality and
really good value at the "sale price" just be aware that the sale price isn't
that big of a deal.
