This one was found by CanUK so I can't take the credit.

Wiha 341 Series 10 Piece Nut Driver Screwdriver Set with SoftFinish Handles - £34.95

http://www.tooled-up.com/Product.asp?PID=183707

I got cashback through Quidco as well bringing it down by a further £3.

D'oh! I never even thought to check Quidco!

Good idea this thread though - the thought had crossed my mind more than once that we needed a space.

The 440's aren't made in France are they? Also assuming the Elora set isn't made in Germany?

The elora set (8pc offset ring) I bought are all marked either "Made in Germany" or "Germany" - about half of each.

I *think* the Facom's are made in Taiwan, but quality seems beyond reproach so probably only an issue for the COO-obsessed, especially at that price.

Absolutely agree with this.... I bought a full set from 4mm - 34mm and every
one is flawless and once I had to really hit the tiny 10mm with a hammer to
remove a fitting and it didn't even flinch.... I am very impressed with these
spanners.

There are a few NOS Facom 3/8" & 1/2" socket sets on ebay at really good prices...

..and this 1/2" socket set 8-32mm with S.161 ratchet for just £77.50 + £6 p&p

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FACOM-AUG...t=UK_Hand_Tools_Equipment&hash=item2a2112460e

And the modern version of this set just £70:

http://www.ffx.co.uk/tools/product/3148519047554 facom sl.dbox1 1 2in std 6 pt socket set 21pcs

Or £71 for the 12pt version:

http://www.ffx.co.uk/tools/product/3148519047639 facom sl.dbox112 socket set 1 2in bihex metric 12pt

Downside over the older version is it doesn't have a removable tray.

I've been watching the Facom 3/8 set on eBay for a few months now. The price is a steal but I just don't need it…

…well I don't think I do…yet…

As the new versions are a work of art…

Thanks to whatever deity you might happen to subscribe to for that! There's enough cheap rubbish available here already.

well I have often wondered what the UK / European equivalent of the Craftsman tool is?

I would have assumed from this site that they were quite good ?

...definitely beyond the scope of this thread :)

EDIT: Removed the bulk of my post for the reason above, and so as not to derail a brilliant thread :)

Not me, I would have if I hadn't discovered Armstrong locking ratchets! Got a 1/4" and 3/8" at the PO to collect and saving up for the 1/2".

Let us know what you think of these Will. They do look good, but are
quite expensive... A couple of times I've wished my flex ratchet would lock.

Made in the USA, but don't let that put you off as there are 1 or 2 on this forum that think that is a good thing...
:)

can you get these in a size 19 or 22mm as they would be handy for starting off wheel bolts and nuts when they are deep set ?
