I reckon a stainless top one flanked by two double stack bahco cabs would look awesome!

You have the garage to pull it off as well! :bounce:

That would be rather awesome.

This is it, right? Fairly rare item as well I seem to recall?

Don't think they are available in the UK to be honest so yes very rare!

Wish my photoshop skills were better, I could then re-create the triple bay Bahco.

I think Alx has secretly lusted after a SO roller as well, so that could potentially fulfill that desire while seamlessly integrating with his current tool hoardi... err storage arrangements :)

If anyone is looking for cheap vise grips, Farnell are selling made in Taiwan ones for £2.43 (+vat) for the 10" and £2.49 for the 7".

http://uk.farnell.com/duratool/608-510a/plier-adjustable-grip-10/dp/3127722

They do however have a minimum order value of £20.

They have a few other things on clearance as well such as drill bits which are Roebuck branded, but have a split point tip and are made in the uk.

Have a look through:

http://uk.farnell.com/jsp/search/results.jsp;jsessionid=QYMX5FUYWTHNACQLCIQZLTQ?N=2031+204398+731&Ntk=gensearch&Ntt=Clearance_all&Ntx=mode+matchallpartial&displaytext=&hasOnlySelectedPGRefinement=false&getResults=true&_requestid=449129

Someone may find something of use.

Although I only bought the vise grips as a filler, me being me, I just had to buy 10 pairs.

The vise grips are spot on. Jaws are tight and line up straight. The folded spine (i.e. part with 3 rivets) is 2.3mm steel, so not bad. The cheap chinese ones are made out of paper. And for comparison the Lock Jaws ones I have are 2.4 mm (although their steel my be better).

My one minor gripe is that the handle is a bit loose and has the tendency to lock to one side, however this does not affect the fuctioning of the pliers.

For the price they are perfect for hammering, grinding, blasting holes with the welder and chucking them at something when you are angry.

Facom SL.DBOX4 (1/2" drive socket set in a compact FOD case) on ebay. New in sealed wrapper. £75 + £8 shipping:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Facom-SL-...t=UK_Hand_Tools_Equipment&hash=item53f45080b8

The difference with the DBOX4 (as opposed to DBOX1 or 2) is I believe the inclusion of the T-bar and a single extension rather than two extensions and a swivel in the other sets.

FWIW -I've purchased from this seller previpously and have had a positive, trouble-free experience.

Nice deal on the 1/2" DBOX set. Tooled up are still selling DBOXs for £82.95 but the T-Bar sounds appealing.

Has anyone found a good deal on the 3.8" set?

This is the best deal I found on a Sealey LED3010. It's a lithium-ion rechargeable LED light. It comes with mains and car chargers and I keep mine in the car as part of my winter breakdown kit.

P&P is £6.90 though but I got a load of nylocs and some cheap punches as well as the same time.

anyone got a deal on 1/2inch impact sockets, shallow and deep.

not sealey or draper...

Have you looked into Trident?

Keep an eye out on ebay you will be able to pick up a good, used set of shallow impacts no problem.

For the deep sockets I had trouble finding a set that had all the larger sizes, didn't miss out the some of the less common sizes and was for reasonable money. In the end I just bought the Draper Expert set off Amazon. They are good heavy sockets and well broached. They will wear a bit on the drive end.

You used to see older Britool sets for sensible money. You may find some of them still about.

VAT is basically a purchase tax, the government adds 20% to most goods at point of sale. For example, A sells an item to B costing $1. A actually charges B $1.20, trousers his $1 and the government comes around for their .20 sooner rather than later.

It was a half set that only contained common sizes.

Item 181066836645? 10-27mm, 10pcs - went for £20. It was new and complete as originally sold, but yeah not every size in the set. Still a bargain though and I was gutted to have missed it.

Just did. now I'm hoping they don't want to ship to me, so I don't get tempted to buy more....
They've got gearwrench, have been wanting to try that for some time... (snap On is way to expensive for me...)

Hey guys...Thanks for the comments! We will ship anywhere, but prefer to do this through our own website rather than eBay. (Ebay states UK only as we dont have time to respond to 100's of requests for a 10mm spanner)!
We now have a new quoting system in place on the site for overseas...select what you want to buy and go to the checkout, where it will send it as a quotation request. One of the guys here will check the actual cost of shipping and send it back, normally within a few hours - if acceptable you can click the link and pay online using card, PayPal or Google Checkout.
We have a few items showing cheaper on eBay at the moment and are trying to catch up, drop us an email and we will sort this and reduce our web price.
Thanks again for the kind comments!

Hi PrimeTools,

Any progress on this:
Also, I will let you guys know when we eventually get the "Voucher system" working on our checkout and let you have the codes so that you get the best deals.

I''m really after a Facom 3/8 6 point DBox set. You said you'd try and honour the good deal price a "a bit longer". Is 6 months a bit too long, hehe? I'll probably buy the Facom 40R.JE11 set so it'd be nice to order them together. I'm also after Facom MOD.55-1 and MOD.84TZS as well!

I am sorry that the voucher code system has not happened yet, as our web designer has been busy developing games for mobile phones - which is more lucrative than helping us to sell a few spanners!! (We will get there eventually)!
I'm afraid that Facom have increased the price of the socket set, but please drop me an email ([email protected]) or call the office (01761 233322) and we will do our best to work out a special price for the all the items! (Please mention Garage Journal)!!

Another box at Lidl for £9.99 and made in Germany. Not nearly as sturdy as the Stanley above though. Excuse the really crappy mobile phone pics:

View media item 28523
And a small set of wall-organisers, also made in Germany for £7.99 (from memory)

WHY HAVN'T I SEEN THIS THREAD SOONER!!!!??!

My toolbox consists of mostly older britool (non of the expert stuff), Lots of Facom, GeDore, Elora, Sykes Pickavant & Mac Tools. I so have a few Teng tools pieces also.

I'm good friends with a shop owner thats a Facom and Britool distributor (primetools offers), and often buy quality tools that are on offer when I don't need them because the price is too good to miss lol. I don't imagine I'm alone in this!

I'll be watching this thread!
