I'll have two that need refinishing now ,( the other is fine )
I've contacted Gedore to try for replacement decals , they seemed a bit puzzled

I'm not a huge fan of Hammerite though, I might see what the powdercoater has in stock

Powder coat is probably the best option, I know what ya mean by the hammerite finish, its a marmite thing ya love it or hate it, but its what I always see gedores in. A nice change satin blue?

Anyone here do any work on classics? I've a bucket load of A/F & Whit spanners that I'll be clearing out shortly.

I've also got a small engine stand and a folding engine crane, both of which have only been used a couple of times, to move on.

Interested in the engine stand? Where are you based?

i think its one thing that does justify spending on the snappys , even if theyre used

i went a while with other brands rounding em off , then upgraded to some used snap ons and havent rounded a single one sinse

I am sure it is exactly the same stuff. Buy with caution. I got a set of Neilsen hose pliers and they're pretty nasty. The one with the flexible cable broke after a few uses. Big impact sockets are a lot simpler though. Precision engineering matters less on a 30mm socket than a 10mm socket.

if this is the brit's corner :)
what do you folks think of the USPRO tool chest that are sold on ebay? Anyone have/use them?

I bought 2 of the USPRO tool carts from ebay, I got them for half the buy it now
price on a couple of lucky auctions. I have not seen or used the tool chests though.

If the chests are anything like the carts I would say they are adequate nothing more.
I only use my carts as a handy work surface next to what I am working on for putting
tools on, and for keeping parts that I have removed so they get fairly light use.

For what I use them for they were a bargain and I am delghted with them, but I
don't think I would consider the tool boxes.... If they were for home use I'm sure
they would be fine but certainly nothing special... You get what you pay for.

Hope that helps a little.

I've got a USPRO cantilever tool box the quality/finish isn't very good I wouldn't bother unless they're really cheap

nielsen stuff always looks like the Bergen tools that the pikeys sell at car boots

Roundabout here, Nielsen stuff IS the stuff that pikeys sell at the markets. Impact sets are probably ok, but I wouldn't trust any of the rest of it.

22 doesnt seem so cheap for that impact set, i picked up s stahwillie set off ebay for similar money.

Bergan = neilsen = approach with caution.

I use them for certain things ( stuff that i dont need often but is incredibly expensive from the main brands) but will always google for reviews , some of it is junk and quality control can be questionable.

Some good news for garage journal bargain hunters! We are in the process of having a warehouse clearance to make room for a large number of new Wiha products that have just arrived.

So everything on www.tradesmanschoice.com has been discounted even further than it already was. There are some real amazing bargains available there now, stock is limited, so don't miss out.

On www.onlyqualitytools.com we've also done some price slashing, particularly on Dormer, Bahco, Facom, Mitutoyo brands.

Cheers,
Mark.

I've got one of these, large silver double decker job. I had a problem with one side handle bolt not screwing in properly, but other than that, it was pretty good value for the money at the time. I would grade them as B - middle of the road quality. I believe they are manufactured in China.

The guys on ebay gave me good service, even helped me to get it up the stairs on delivery which I think went above and beyond the call of duty!

Cheers,
Mark.

How much? The Halfords ones are rebadged GW, right? So Lidl's are better than Halfords?
