My Dad had this set for years, came from a friend of my grandfathers. We have looked but found no info about it.
Whats unique (to me anyway) is the "holding pin" that locks the socket in place. No tool manufacturer markings anywhere. Any ideas ???
Thanks !

Only a trace of the logo left on the lid. Still missing the crossbar extension.

Wow, awesome ! Thank you guys for posting. Lugz, great write up !! My family grew up in New Haven, so I guess this all makes sense. Ill have to keep my eye out for the wrench, and the ratchet mechanism.

I see a piece pop up now and then. They are mostly unmarked so you have to work at spotting them

I was under the impression that a lot of tools from this early '20s era, had sizes that were either unmarked, or had the 'bolt / nut' size, not the "across the flats" size. I know they standardized this sometime around '27 ??

That's true for a lot of early double and single open end wrenches. Not true of early socket wrenches. Most pressed steel sockets have their broached opening size - plus a 32/nd - marked on them, typically in 32/nds. The earliest machined (like Eastern) or forged steel sockets continued that practice.

My father was digging around his garage after I showed him this post , and he found the wrench ! Cool. I highly doubt we have the ratcheting mechanism.
