I have 2 questions
Question #1
I just put down my 100% solids floor with a coat of urethane last Sunday and I and going to add another coat of urethane this weekend and I didnt know if I need to sand or degloss the last layer or if it is new enough to recoat over it without doing anything to the previous coat. The floor is clean and has not been touched since coating last sunday 4-10. I was told to use xylene to wipe the floor down to soften the previous layer so it will bond. Is there a more common chemical that will work such as MEK,Thinner, etc. anything I can get at Lowes. mabee something like this http://www.lowes.com/pd_206572-34228-CR.LD.M.64_4294806341_4294937087_?productId=3024061&Ns=p_product_prd_lis_ord_nbr|0||p_product_quantity_sold|1&pl=1¤tURL=%2Fpl_Paint%2BPreparation%2BCleaners_4294806341_4294937087_%3FNs%3Dp_product_prd_lis_ord_nbr|0||p_product_quantity_sold|1%26page%3D3
I used the Norklad 100% solids and High gloss urethane top coat.
Question #2
I have found a few small spots that are still totally wet like if it was put down with no hardener (part B) down to the concrete. I found them when I went in to pull tape and stuck my hand in them. It seems like the concrete was wet or something when I put down the base. I know it was totally dry but some of the primer was still tacky in a few spots but the spots I remember are totally dry and hard as a rock.
Anyway, can I razor cut a square out and pull up what I can with a putty knife and remix the base and pour it in the square and let it self level out at the same as the other base height and then when I reclear the rest of it go right over the top and allow it to all blend in. Will this process show when it is all done if I do this?
