You’re a fool if you think the neighborhood has anything to do with it! Just sayin...

I went with green (because I could not catch orange in stock) and am installing cameras....

I agree 100% neighborhood doesn't matter.

Wife questioned needing camera's like I told her better safe than sorry, we live in a small town, most likely I will know who it was..... cops better find them first, but as of yet the pitbull and random gunfire from the property has held anyone away...

I knew that comment would catch some heat. LOL
I also live in a small town. Up until a few years ago it was still pretty safe. Now the addicts walk the side roads at night checking car doors to see if theres some change in the car or a laptop left on the seat. Cameras are nice but the skells in my area walk right up wearing a hoodie so you cant even see their face. Id like a camera system that notifies the owner that someone set it off. Like Ring. Phone goes off in the middle of the night and you might get lucky enough to catch them in the act. Our society is really circling the drain.

If I had to load up an entire 56" box and return to the store when they could have just swapped out a drawer or two, I'd just take a refund and tell them to eff off.

Yeah I was waffling between going to home depot this weekend for a husky box or waiting a bit longer to get a us general one, and this has me pretty convinced I want to go with the husky

I am very tempted to do that. The issue I have is it was not easy getting this box off of the trailer. It will be even more difficult to load it due to the steep hill I'm on.

I swapped out my second 56” box for a matching sku number of my first box. Yes it is a PITA, but with my son’s help, and removing the drawers before lifting it into my truck, it wasn’t a huge deal, other than our time. We did the same process to unload once getting the new box back home. Good luck!

Sad thing is I returned a Husky to get the HF. Talk about dumb.

I would order another box. When it comes, go pick it up and take the bad drawer with you. Swap the drawer out in the parking lot and put the good drawer in the truck... roll the box (w/ the bad drawer installed) back into the store and return it.

Stupid retail policies make for stupid customer actions.

I never would have thought I would consider a yellow tool box, but when I bought my 2 boxes at HF, I did give some consideration to yellow. They look pretty sharp and brighten up the shop. I ended up choosing blue though.

This is HF's "replacement" policy, agree it is stupid when all you need is a simple part. I bought a HF 4x6 bandsaw and one of the drive pulley's was chipped. Same thing bring the whole saw back and they would give me a new one.

HF is 60 miles away and I had already assembled the saw which isn't hard but did take some time. Other than the pulley the saw was perfect, what are the odds there would be nothing wrong with the new one?

I ended up ordering a pulley from Grizzly who basically sell the same saw but paints in green. Grizzly actually has customer support for their products, but you pay for it. Same saw at Grizzly costs $100 more.

I have a Husky 27" and US General 26 and 44" boxes. The Husky is ok, but the HF boxes are definitely better built. I would either **** it up and swap the box, or do as others have suggested and buy another one, swap the drawer and return it. If you are going to go to the trouble you may as well take it home and go over both boxes in close detail and swap out every bit that isn't perfect on the one you keep.

They have a stupid replacement policy, but at least they do have a pretty painless return policy.

I’ve had the same issue with some smaller stuff like extensions. I lost 1 or 2 over a couple years so I couldn’t get them replaced. Not a big deal since it was $10 or whatever but that’s the kind of thing that sours buyers from a big purchase. When I was in that business I’d take a good part from a new one and put the rest with the bad part I was warrantying. Same difference for the company without inconveniencing the customer.

I have to say ordering a second and making one best from 2 and returning bad one to store about best for you .
If take current box back and get minor defects on exchange you going be well pissed and experiencing ground hog day .
at least doing above you result in A1 box and potentially less ballache for everyone .
Unfortunately HF policy and lack of flexibility to customer convenience has no real workaround in most stores ...
I think one thing you need build into a box purchase is potential strategy for dealing with damage .
