I'm gonna say Camera. Thew H/F box was even better once I got the weight on some tools in the drawers, I would never own any box without ball bearing slides, That quite glide stuff is ****.

The older craftsman quiet glide drawers are actually decent.

I've had my HF box for a few months now and I'm very happy with it. I like it so good that I'm going to purchase another one next time they go on sale. I want to pick up one of the end boxes for it then I'll be 100% happy with it. Here is mine. It has the "optional" emblems on it

How do you like that top box? I am debating on getting one. I really hate to get rid of the work space on the roller but need more room. I would get another roller but there is no more floor space in my garage.

I'm very happy with it and the bottom. No complaints whatsoever. I have shown them both to several of my friends who have the "high-end" boxes. When I told them what I paid they all said the same thing..."no way!" and 3 of them went to HF the next week to purchase their own. I have yet to hear anything negative from any of them.

Is it just distortion from the camera lens or is that top box sagging in the middle?

It's not sagging. The box still looks in near new condition after several years of use.

What's the point of putting Craftsman emblems on a HF box? If you're happy with the box, why not leave the US General emblem on it?

Because I didn't have any Strap-on emblems lying around.

Yeah, I got a friend that has a Toyota but he puts a Lexus emblem on it b/c he's 100% happy with it!

My brother has a wall of matco tool box, he's 6'4 and cañt see into the top of it all. I have 4 wooden chests I made myself from scrap wood and a few dollars of hardware store stuff. We both have enough tools to do what we do, mechanic type jobs. He once owed over $30g on his and I have always owned my stuff outright. his looks better by far but I personally wouldn't want the pressure of that debt. still I get asked to build a wooden box for someone from time to time because they like mine! thanks to my grandfather for showing me how to do it myself. a lesson well learned and very practical. Bottom line.....build, buy or whatever.....do what works for you and understand that we all live in a GLOBAL ECONOMY like it or not. HF or mac or snappy, its just another choice that if you can live with it, its good.

Building something you can be proud of is AWESOME, especially if you learned it from your grand-dad KUDOS to you.

I love wooden boxes and will go out of my way to buy an old Gerstner or Union box. I restore old boxes for a hobby.

I have looked at the HF boxes and for the price I can't criticize them. Who knows, maybe Craftsman is not USA either. I bought a 3 stack about 6 yrs ago and as an after thought I e-mailed C-Man and their response was that they were assembled in the USA. I made a followup call to C-man and they wouldn't even tell me that.

C-Man boxes are possibly/probably built in the same plant in China or Taiwan as the HF stuff.
