Good Day All,
I'm new here and looking for some info about an old compressor we have. My dad acquired this unit some 40 plus years ago with the intention of restoring it but never did.
Time has passed and it's now time to let it go. We think it's from the early to mid teens but can't really confirm that.
I can't seem to find the history on these so that's why I joined up here today. This seems to be the best place to hopefully learn some knowledge.
This compressor appears to be all original, I think including the red paint. It does run and fires right up. The unique thing here is the belt. This is not the typical flat belt type, rather it has a chain type belt assembled with individual links and screws. of course it's made of leather.
We're trying to gage a value on this thing as it will be for sale. We have a local friend who has an interest but have no idea on really what it's worth.
I've found some similar compressors from the 1920s listed in the $2k range but they seem to be slow movers. everything I've seen though is the flat belt type. not sure if they're over priced or what.
I'm hoping somebody here can chime in. Your thoughts and opinions are appreciated. Thanks for your time!

Based on the earliest patent, and adding 17 years, 1920 should be latest mfg date.
