Using Impact wrench on fasteners in aluminum threads

Question for the pro's. Any reservation removing fasteners that are threaded into an aluminum block? Do you use a socket wrench or impact?

Removing, nope. Putting them back in, i run them down then tighten by hand.

On alum no.

On the way out no. On the way in, very light on the trigger, torque to spec by hand..

Problem I see is more an issue of rusty bolts that break off and had to drilled out and a timesert put in.

I've removed thousands of fasteners from aluminum with impact wrenches with no issues at all. You're not going to find many professionals that aren't using air or power tools for removal if they will fit where they're working.

I used an 3/8 cordless impact to remove bolts but installed them with a socket and ratchet by hand down to mfr's torque specs.

Loosening? Of course you can. Just don’t be a *******. Look at the work to be done and use good judgment. Tighten critical bolts to spec and use German spec on the rest. I’m not taking this trans apart with hand tools your heads on fire.
