Great organizers! Nice work!

BTW I closed on the 18th, and started moving in that night!

Fairfax Station checking in. I have been on the GJ off and on since January 2010 and just today discovered this thread and subscribed to the group. Can't believe I missed it. I had a 26 x 28 built in 2010 to accommodate my toys. Will have to post some pics some day. Got a lot of good info here.

Manassas here, been really impressed with some of your garages. I have a one car townhouse that basically doesnt allow me to work on anything but its ok, i will just live vicariously through some of you.

Hola' -- Longtime lurker here. 2 car garage in the Fair Lakes area that gets used and abused. After finishing up a rebuild of the current car it's in for an overhaul.

<- Wishes he discovered garagejournal and did more research before laying down Epoxy. Might have to convince Jim to help me lay down some VCT in the garage :)

I've had two one car garages, and there is a lot you can do with them. Look around here and you will see!

Welcome!

Hey guys - Welcome from Annandale. Nice to see some action on this thread. We really need to have another local Meet and Greet this spring to put faces with names.

Jim VB - I was down your way today picking up a friend for her Chemo infusion. Each time I visit that part of town I'm impressed with how well maintained and how people effectively use each square inch of their property. BTW - I've been following your thread and the garage turned out very nice.

Very cool to see so many of you guys on this board in Nova. Just found this thread this evening and I'm checking in from Bristow. I've got an attached 20x20 garage which houses two cars regularly. I've decided to start upgrading it the way I've wanted for a long time, and I stumbled onto this board. I ordered a new toolbox from Strictlytoolboxes.com and got some advise on plumbing my compressor from my basement to the garage.

A lot of you guys have incredible garages. Keep the pictures coming, and I promise I'll do the same....when I have something to show :)

I just installed some CL cabinets the other night. The problem with my garage is that it is a small 1 car. The 5 series doesnt fit in, my jeep will though. thank god for a short wheel base. :rocker:

its also really to narrow to do work on a car in the garage, but i will live.

My girlfriend's dad has 2 cinderblock barns out in culpepper and i would like to make one my work garage.

Checking in from Westover Arlington.
Lots so small the max they'll let you build is a 550sq/ft....so I did.

Hopefully I'll be making a LOT more headway on finishing it and a yard-tool shed this late-summer/fall.
I feel you. I live in Southern California and I can only build a 600sq.ft. Garage. Fifteen ft. Max roof peak. Sadly 6 years earlier they allowed 800 sq. ft. I'll hopefully break ground in a few months. .Ill be be grateful to have it when it's done.

I live in Woodbridge, VA.....for now. Just sold my house and bought a new home in Martinsburg, WV which is just north of Winchester, VA. I'll be moving Feb. 25. The new house has an attached 2 car garage and a detached 2 car. I'm pretty excited to get into the new garages. I only have a 1 car now :(

Just found this site. I'm in Catlett. House has a two car attached and two car detached. Moved from Braemar into current, short sale, house about a year and half ago. Finally finished with insulatiing the detached a couple of weeks ago. Looking to add heat now. Been surfing the net for a 45K Hot Dawg or Big Maxx. Resisting buying new because I KNOW that as soon as I do I'll find one on craigslist for half price.

JimVonBaden: Where did you get all those lateral files? Must have gotten a deal on them....they are great for storage of anything (manuals, parts, etc).

I got them from a business going under for $100 for the three. You can find them pretty regularly on Craigs List for similar prices. They are great for all kinds of storage. I have a drawer for each subject, from wiring, to motorcycle parts, to home supplies to scrap metal. Yes, one has old manuals and papers. I'm totally sold on them.

I must have missed this thread before, so I'm late to the party, but checking in. I live in Linden and work in Chantilly. I'll get pics up of my shop one of these days.

There hasn't been much activity recently. I'd like to have another gtg either at my place or preferably a new venue.

Good fellow has held several great gigs over the years but he has been less active on GJ.

Will,

You know we all want to come to your place and see the progress on the SLC, :3gears:. As for me, my place is a mess with Chevelle parts everywhere. The Chevelle is still in Paint Jail, but I managed to pick a color and hopefully, my thoughts make the transition to reality.

My SLC is being painted next week, assuming the weather cooperates. If people don't mind seeing it not totally finished, sometime in the fall might work, depending on if I ever find a really great interior shop.

But then I'd actually have to clean up the shop. And it is a working shop, you know! :)

Cool.
BTW I think most of the car dealers in Tysons (MB, Audi, Porsche, AM) use Lims for interior work...may want to check with them.

My shop is a TOTAL mess right now, even storing my brothers can in there now, so it's way overloaded.

Hey fella's -- good thing this post came back up. I finally got some projects out of the garage, so I can finally work on getting it back into shape.

Need to strip and redo the epoxy (my first attempt was horrible, my own fault) and get the garage repainted.

Anyone have good leads on a paint contractor that could knock the ceiling + walls on a 20*20 and patch a few holes.

Also -- where are you guys renting your grinders for concrete prep? I saw capital rentals has the edco, but also know HD started carrying Dimabrush stuff now.

Anywho, everyone likes pictures right? I need to start to a build thread on there once i get the ball rolling..

Sad state of the garage now -- numerous motor swaps, and most recently a nut and bolt restoration of my 97 Type-R..

Reason for free space is this junker is finally out of the garage after 2 years..

For a lawn tractor?
Dang Rothaus, maybe I do need to move away from 1/8 acre plots of land...
BTW I love the brick foundation, I think I'll have to face mine in thin-brick to make it blend with my house...now to find the $ to pay for it....
