PS - Hope you've bought a fair number of toys, cause after marriage you can't buy any new one's outright, you have to trade in an old toy to get to a new one.

He speaks the truth. My wife took it one step further and is trying to get me to sell my 2nd car. As it is, I have been put on one of those "budget" things that barely allows me to buy new wheels every 3 months like I use to do......

Ryan - Thanks for opening up your place for the M&G. Nice build. Enjoyed the eats, and had a good time.

If anyone is interested, the United Rentals in Sterling has aluminum road signs on clearance for $5. They have maybe 20 left, they have Visitor Parking, No Parking, and one or two others. These are the real aluminum ones, maybe 12x24" or so.

I grabbed 3 while I was there renting an auger.

Their number is 703-327-2800, 23535 Overland Drive, Sterling, VA, on 606/West Ox by the NOAA radar dishes.

Well, the weather is getting cooler and it's nice to hang outside. Anyone up for another GTG? I wouldn't mind hosting again if need be -- always nice to hang out and talk shop in the fall.

GoodF - Great idea, but with a lot of things going on it will depend upon the weekend. Even so, since you're so close I should be able to at least do a drive-by GTG.

I give... what's a GTG? Get Together? I can't begin to guess what SWMBO is

I give... what's a GTG?

"Get-To-Gether" -- GTG

Sorry -- should have made that more clear.

All you local guys, I'll keep in touch via PM and am hoping to schedule the GTG in late October (not Halloween) or early November.

"She Who Must Be Obeyed" -- SWMBO -- Not a trivial issue for those of us with "Honey Do" lists on weekends.:lol_hitti

I'd love to invite myself if I can. PM?

Goodfellow, keep me on your list of 'locals' please.

Truck

Will do -- I'll PM all the local folks when I get a bit more clarity.

herbet99 -- I'll send you a "test" Personal Message (PM) in a minute -- it will show up on the top-right side of the page under the heading "Personal Messages" -- click on it and reply.

If you have problems -- post away. Help isn't far away.

Guys I need your HELP!

My girlfriends boss is looking to start building his awesome garage. But the location of how the house sits on the land and this and that makes the job complicated on how it needs to be built. He has an idea, he just needs someone to be able to design the structural build.

So what I am asking from you guys/gals is for the ones that built your dream garage or even the ones that know or have connections, do you guys/gals know anybody that could do amazing work? Her boss is an awesome guy, so I'm just trying to help him source some people and I know this is the best group of guys/gals out there.

Reply back here or PM, either or. Which ever you're more comfortable with. Thanks Guys/Gals

Knowing where is his build site might help others understand if they can help.

What a wonderful day to spend outside talking about tools, machinery and cars. We had a pretty good turnout --
Hope some of you watched the pics on-line. In case you didn't, here are a few snapshots.

Somehow, I wound up with more beer than I started with :lol_hitti

GoodF - I know we've chatted already, but I also wanted to offer my regrets in this venue too. From the pictures it looks like you've made some progress on the Jag and acquired a few more toy (tools) since the last time I was over.

Here are the Fall 2010 Northern Virginia Garage Gang GTG pics! A wonderful day with many beautiful cars. The highlight of the day was "kheim's" Lambo Murcielago --- it can't get much better than seeing such a car up close and personal.

"Ole" brought his newest project purchase -- a 1959 Edsel Corsair, while "JMURiz" drove up his cherry 356 Porsche. Thanks guys!!!
