Yes. But the internal hepa bag is not connected to the blower. They are seperate. It's designed to not blow dust out the blower. As long as you have the bag correctly installed, it is impossible to blow dust out of it. Only other way would be if the bag broke.It uses the exhaust to function as a blower.
My central vac exhaust goes outside.
