Hi Guys,

I am looking at getting a new vacuum for my garage. Anyone have any experience with these? The pro version says it has a 138" of lifting power which is better then anything else I have seen. I like the fact that it uses bags as well since I don't like dealing with dumping bagless systems. Thoughts?

Thanks!

Mike

I snagged the Hoover GUV (garage utility vac) brand new for 60 bucks. It works great. Especially at that price. I would still recommend it at full price. It has enough suction for cleaning out if the cars. It struggles a little on dog hair in the fibers , but everything does. No have no idea how much lift it has.

I recently considered the Vacumaid, the GUV and the InterVac Garagevac.

The GUV is made in Canada and the Intervac GarageVac is made in the USA.

I ended up going with a small shop vac instead, but I'm again considering a wall-mounted unit. I'm moving into a new house in a few weeks.

Pure suction isn't the only thing to consider. How large are the units? Will they take up needed wall space or intrude into usable space in the garage? Also, what will you be using the vac for? Too much suction can make it difficult to clean upholstery and auto carpets and some other tasks.

Thanks guys. I did have a Hoover GUV previously but I hated dumping out the collector and cleaning the filter so that is why I am looking for something with bags instead. I do have a regular shop vac but the stiff hose and dragging the thing around is a pain. I will be using it for vacuuming up workbench debris, cleaning the garage, and vacuuming the cars. No wet stuff. Just general garage project cleanup for the most part. I thought about a central vac as well but it might be overkill. If I do end up going with the VacuMaid I will let you guys know how it is.

I own a Vacumaid Garage Vac Pro (model SR38 / GV50P)
The original bag is the coolest bag I have ever seen on a vacuum. I've emptied it about 5 times in the past year. It has now torn.
PLEASE direct me to the EXACT same bag, so I can replace my original.
Amazon has listings but theirs are all paper (not material like my orinal).
Even Vacumaid does not list the proper bag

Please answer where I can get an original

Pretty happy with my craftsman wall unit. Cant remember what brand it actually is but its going strong after 5 or so years. Bought a 20' extension hose (not meant for that vacuum, took a chance and just bought it) thats no longer sold from sears and I must say it was almost useless as a wall unit without it.

For a vacuum to stay on the wall it needs at least a true 30' hose.

I have a new VacuMaid GV50 Pro I've only had it about a month ,so can't speak to durability except to say it is well made.

It's not often that a product lives up to it's advertising hype, but the GVPro exceeded my expectations. Its first use was to clean up the interior of my newly built garage ,suction at the end of the 50ft. hose was more than adequate. It easily handled saw dust, wood chips ,nails , drywall dust and spider webs

What was most surprising was how incredibly quiet it was , you can have a normal conservation standing right next to it and 20ft. away I couldn't hear it running.

One of the primary reasons I chose the GV pro was the hepa filtration , tired of my old Shop Vac putting half the fine dust back in the air, changing filters and the messy dumping. The way the vacumaid is designed .you seal the bag before removing it from the canister an everything stays clean . The hepa bag really works , I was a bit skeptical of the claims ,so after cleaning up my 20x20 loft which included everything you'd expect in new construction I wiped the inside of the exhaust port with a clean white tissue and found not a speck of dust. To say I was impressed would be an understatement , I was amazed ,considering what I had just put through it

Normally I don't recommend any product, because there's always the chance I got a good one and you won't, but this thing is so good it deserves it's kudos. Based on my experience I say buy it with confidence

FYI the vacuum is made in the USA but the accessory tools are Chinese,I didn't think it possible but "good quality Chinese"
