Solid lifters...? The best way is with a Vacuum Gauge...! Box wrench and screwdriver...
Can you explain that procedure to me? I'd like to use it on my diesel engine..

I can't find the one I use online. It has a 1/2" drive so I can use different size sockets and it has a hand knob on the top attached to the adjustment driver that was throught the center of the 1/2" drive (I can't remeber if it is just a bit driver or if the bit is attached). It was made for a specific application so I could see the bit not being easily swapped. It was nice since both wrench for the lock nut and the driver for the adjustment was in one unit. It came as part of a tool set for the engine otherwise I would have just used a box end wrench and an allen wrench.
Then I use a dial indicator to check the adjustment.
This one? I use it on my MGA and MG Midget. It is OK, but I usually end up double-checking with a feeler gauge.

What about a regular off set end box wrench? I use those on the solid lifters of my air cooled VW - just last night even!
A friend of mine just bought something just like that and loves itthis is my newest.
