Vapor barrier??

I'm just about finished putting in all the insulation in my new 28x30 garage.
It's going to be sheeted with OSB.

Do I need to put vapor barrier on the ceiling before sheeting it?
Any tips for a first timer?
I have the vapor barrier boxes around all me electrical already.

Depends on the type of insulation you used in the ceiling. Typically it goes sheet rock, vapour barrier, insulation. Same as the walls. Location of the vapour barrier depends if there is living space above the garage (ie before or after the insulation).

No living space above... Just open trusses right now.
I was thinking Vapor barrier the sheeting and blowing in insulation after...

Yes, especially in Alberta if you intend on heating your garage at some point.

Run some heat loss calcs with and without VB in the ceiling. You will be vey suprised at the difference it makes.

Yes, you must do the ceiling. All the joints must be sealed with acoustic sealant. Tuck tape comes off over time.
