merry chrismas vieux, as always nice work you do. i love the small bulb as a replacement for the ugly resistor. i assume it is the same resistance, but how did you figure out the resistance of the bulb? :dunno:

Thank you! Merry Christmas!
The little lamp is to replace a large resistance. To find out the bulb's resistance I used Ohm's law. I had 2 options, power and voltage. The rest is easily calculated

Looks like a small nuclear bomb. :D
Like something from Fallout. Very cool!
:)
Thank you! Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas!
Thanks!

Again funny little repair! :)
This time cheap Chinese mops. You can go and buy a new one, but it will be the same quality and will break immediately. Therefore was made the eternal version of the mops. Some aluminum, a couple of screws and all the kits ready and will last a long time. I hope so...

Merry Christmas! I am not sure how much emphasis is placed on this holiday in your country until recently. I know the big holiday is Father Winter?

It's always good to see you design something that works with the parts you have on hand.

Yes you are right, in Russia the more popular holiday of the New year. Celebrate it on December 31st and the holiday lasts for several days.

Excellent fix, as always.

Thank you!

Another attempt to optimize the small space of the garage. Removed from the wall shelves which have accumulated a lot of different stuff. In their place hung gas heater. Warm air will be at the metal corrugation to go to the right place. I think it would be better under the feet and not mesh.

Here is a small video how to redo a similar heater on gas. Maybe someone will be interested.

Came to visit Santa Claus and presented here such a case. :)

Inside the suitcase was a very useful and necessary thing - a hammer with a capacity of 900 W.

Fantastic work as always! I love how you manage to do the coolest stuff in that space!
Thank you! My little garage is making me do this.

We have a saying "Bad head to hands of rest does not give". :)
I do try to optimize a small space. Now on the wall I have is a powerful heater. I think it would be better...

You have some nice machine shop equipment in your garage that I can't begin to operate.

Now your new hammer even I could operate that. I like to use my air hammer/chisel when things want to be stubborn.

Just starting reading your thread. All I can say is different countries but we speak all the same language. Beer, food and getting stuff done. 200 post down 970 to go. Love seeing pictures of your country.

Thank you for taking the time to look at my page.

The heater is installed completely. Made a shelf for the control unit and the thermal insulation of the exhaust pipe.

Not about the garage, just. Will show some photos of my city.

Happy New year friends!!!

Vieux: i love your garage and project pictures, but you certainly wouldn't hurt my feelings a bit posting more pictures of your beautiful city and critters you see on a daily or once in a while basis. a lot of us may never see your part of the world so would love a guided tour from a fellow member if you have time.

HAPPY NEW YEAR and another year almost in the books and a better one to look forward too.

cheers (ice tea for this old guy, but i might tip a few your direction when midnight comes tomorrow night)

WELL DONE SIR!!

Thank you! I have always said that the news on TV can not be trusted. There is very little truth. Much more useful communication in ordinary people. Well, snow is a temporary phenomenon, stayed 2 months in the winter :)

Vieux: if you don't have any garage related posts with your camera and posting ability i'd love to keep seeing more pictures of whatever you have time to take and post. of course you know there are a few boundaries we never cross to keep GJ a great source for us all.

also with your skills have you ever thought about attaching a stool/chair to a platform with 6 casters on it? if you might have some ideas feel free to post a few thoughts over on my new thread where i'm trying to design and make something for my daughter for her wedding if you have time to.

thanks again for the pictures!!

Your company name, is it Gazprom in English?

Great to have your photos used in your company calendar, but in a calendar of a giant company like Gazprom is WOW!:bowdown::bowdown:

My time in Moscow was on the Baydaratskaya Bay Crossing Project, four 48" pipelines from Yamal to the gas networks for Moscow and export. Gazprom is a giant of the industry.

Beautiful pictures, Vladimir. I don't think your company(Gazprom?) could have gotten a better photographer for their calendar. Congratulations to you!

I hope you have an enjoyable weekend and a very Happy New Year. I'll be waiting for all the eye candy you bring to The Garage Journal in 2017!

Thank you! I will continue to post pictures from my garage and from my city and places I go to. A lot of photos on my page in Flickr. Link is in my signature. About chairs on 6 wheels I have not yet thought of. If i have any interesting thoughts I will write in your topic.

Congratulations on the calender photos. Will you share each
Photo during the month on the calendar with us?

As a firefighter, I'm always interested to see other fire trucks.

I will show you all the photos from the calendar and another calendar. Fire trucks will also show as going to meet them.

Yes, I work in the regional office of the company Gazprom.
I work for a leading engineer on maintenance of communication systems. We use equipment manufactured by Siemens (now they are called "Unify")

Happy new year. I have a friend on an other forum and he rides motorcycles across Russian. From the pictures he takes it's very nice there. Kinda like everywhere else. The cities are cities traffic and all that nice places bad places and the rural areas have a bunch of rednecks doing things to make time fly. Lol. Very nice pictures and as always I am amassed of what you do in your garage.
