I need a VFD for my new Bridgeport mill. The mill is a 1hp 220V 3ph motor and I only have 1ph at home. Many people on Practical Machinist recommend the Teco FM50 for this application. I found a second TECO drive for not much more money and was wondering if anyone can tell me if there are any advantages over the FM50. As near as I can tell the difference seems to be a dial vs. buttons for frequency control.
