I only buy Teco Westinghouse VFDs.
Got two of them, one running my 2 hp mill, one running my 1hp surface grinder.
They always just work and have clear instructions.

I used a Hitachi on my mill. Was pretty easy.
It was similar to this, just a lower rating. This is not the one, but it looks like this:

I agree and they come with excellent documentation which is really important.
A YTer named House/Work designs and builds 2x72 grinders run by a 2hp 3ph motors. In this video he talks about a cheaper alternative to the KBAC-27A VFD that most people use in these grinders.

I think royce is running into the same issue as me. Yes we understand Teco makes a good vfd, but with all the options which one specifically???? The options can be a little overwhelming for the first timer and with the information in the op can't someone give a specific model??

Whats your amperage? As a ball park I would probably pickup a Teco L510-202-H1-U but its amperage dependent.

No personal experience with that newer model but I do like it having the pot for speed control on the face so with the right enclosure/box you may be able to use the actual VFD controls for speed/on/off vs the prior model which wasn't as handy for that and forced remote I/O's for that
For home use projects and light duty the Factorymation stuff I've been happy with and their service/fulfillment times were good....granted that was 5 years ago so current experiences may be different.

I'm using that on my 10ee and with the breaking resistor, it stops on a dime. I have a cheap eBay model on the bridgeport and it won't support a breaking resistor so I just use the brake on the head.
