I only buy Teco Westinghouse VFDs.
Got two of them, one running my 2 hp mill, one running my 1hp surface grinder.
They always just work and have clear instructions.

Thanks David,
Would you happen to have a specific model number for the 2hp?

I agree and they come with excellent documentation which is really important.

I had good success with the Teco units on a bandsaw and a sander, would absolutely use again.

I have more questions than answers.
I think royce is running into the same issue as me. Yes we understand Teco makes a good vfd, but with all the options which one specifically???? The options can be a little overwhelming for the first timer and with the information in the op can't someone give a specific model??

If I'm wrong royce my apologies.

I used a Hitachi on my mill. Was pretty easy.

It was similar to this, just a lower rating. This is not the one, but it looks like this:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/HITACHI-X2...293711&hash=item1a9ba307c6:g:wEEAAOSwFHteStwL

This is the one you need if you like the Hitachi:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Hitachi-WJ...074642?hash=item3b565e0c92:g:fuwAAOSwU-lgBNMO

The pics are just what it looks like. You obviously need the 230V version not 480V.
Thanks Gearhead,
The hitachi you linked is a 1hp, I'm looking for 2hp

A YTer named House/Work designs and builds 2x72 grinders run by a 2hp 3ph motors. In this video he talks about a cheaper alternative to the KBAC-27A VFD that most people use in these grinders.

May be worth watching:

I just watched the video
Thanks FTG

I've used (2) of these on prior projects:

https://www.factorymation.com/FM50-202-C

However looks like it's discontinued and they link to this:

https://www.factorymation.com/TD200-2002-1PH

No personal experience with that newer model but I do like it having the pot for speed control on the face so with the right enclosure/box you may be able to use the actual VFD controls for speed/on/off vs the prior model which wasn't as handy for that and forced remote I/O's for that

For home use projects and light duty the Factorymation stuff I've been happy with and their service/fulfillment times were good....granted that was 5 years ago so current experiences may be different.

Thanks to all for the help.
Pulled the trigger on a KBDA-29-1p-10003
Spent more money than I wanted but got a USA product (assembled anyways) in a nema 4 enclosure
