Added a Billings 5B783 11/16"-3/4"

Also found a 9/16" T-handle wrench marked Fairmount 965D with the wrench but have no idea if it was a Cat tool or not. The number doesn't fit the Cat system.

I found a 5B781 7/16 x 1/2 DOE at an estate sale today. Made by Armstrong.

I'll be keeping it. I have a D-8 and the parts book shows all the tools from the kit.

I did find a 9F-22 bleeder wrench last week. One more item checked off!

2 different styles of drain plug tools. Not sure if the solid one is the same part number as the 1/2" dr Had to cut off a Snap on 1" socket that someone brazed on the solid one

Thanks for sharing! I learned a few things I needed to know to look for. Still have not seen a pair of slip joint pliers.

Wow. I'm not even a Cat collector and that was cool to watch.

Had to laugh at "For some reason" about the scarcity of the tiny DOE, though. Because they're tiny and got lost easier. Same reason the smallest jeep wrench is the hardest to find.

If I squint my eyes just right I can kinda-sorta make out "2H2873" there where somebody - presumably the ebay seller - took a wire wheel to it.

In post #40 of this thread, you posted a photo of a scraper. Any idea who made that for Caterpillar? I do not recognize the logo:

I believe that's a "M" in a shield logo, I think its been id'd. Moore foundry????

edit, Moore drop forge is what i meant but got castings on the brain now. thanks 4.

that is what I am wondering because I have a completely different logo for Moore, but they may well have used multiple logos.

That L wrench does look like a 2H2873.

Interesting. I went back and forth with the seller, who was more puzzled than I was. I bought it thinking that it might have been early Thorsen, but that turned out to not be the case.

Not sure if this Armstrong made L-2302 was made for Caterpillar or not. Cat has a tool with a part number L-2303 (shown in post 40 ) so it seems likely to be for Cat but I can find no documentation.

I found this feeler gauge while on a trip to Eastern Oregon. It does not have a part number, but looks like the 1B9660 that belongs in the tool kit for my D8H. Not in the best of shape, but fills a spot in my kit.

I think that was found in La Grande. We went through Bend, Baker City, John Day, Sumpter, La Grande, Enterprise, Joseph, and Pendleton. Pretty much closed down for the winter, so we saw a lot of scenery.
