Same here and I live a little over 2 hours from Mankato and about 3 from Owatonna. There is also the elusive Lesota I think that is from the Rochester area. I have seen plenty of wrenches but no drive tools. They do exist or at least I have heard rumors of them.

Looking for the following Plomb Pebbles Wrench 3061

Found this today at the flea.
To me, it looks like a Fairmount rebrand.
It is in nice shape.
C22 Owatonna USA oTc 11/16" combo wrench

A thread bumper. Seen this at an antique store. Looks old. Has Mc. Cormick tool kit on it. Thought some OTC fans would like a few pics.IMG_20200525_142150739.jpegIMG_20200525_142200817.jpegIMG_20200525_142218901.jpgIMG_20200525_142244037.jpeg

Thanks I thought it looked cool. I will attempt to find some tools for it, but they seem scarce.

I picked up these wartime Owatonna flare nut wrenches from the flea a couple of weeks ago. I had forgotten them in the bucket of Evaporust. They seem to have retained the dusty phosphate finish well. Sizes are 1" and 1-1/4". Look to be made to have an extension put over the handle.

I bought a used 1/2" OTC set like that from an older neighbor and used it at work for many years. Good stuff!

I turned up this 11/16" x 5/8" tappet wrench in mint condition this past weekend. Not sure how old it is. The company is still in business it seems, mostly to supply "branded" specialty tools, etc. Mechanics hand tools don't appear to be part of the mix.

Owatonna is in the heart of steel country, but the ratchet I have looks like Proto. Not sure about the sockets. They look Wright. So, I don’t know. I have a partial 1/2” drive socket set, old enough to have the 31/32” socket. I’m not overly fond of the ratchet, sockets are ok. I also have a few wrenches around 1”. They’re good enough.

Here's my giant OTC adjustable. I think I've seen others on GJ, but couldn't find with a quick search. I'd like to figure out how old it is.

For comparison, I grabbed a garden-variety OE 4-3/4" wrench from an old auto kit, and set it next to the OTC adjustable. Both wrenches even have holes forged-in, to mount on your favorite peg board.

Here's a little 727 screw starter that came with the 1949 dated Wright 1/4" set I picked up recently. I found it in the 1949 OTC catalog.

Nice wrench. I posted the 24” version before that I picked up from CL.

Have you checked the nut and bolt size yet? I found that a 25/32” wrench fit best.

Thanks. Can you please post again your pic of the 24" version? The bolt on mine is 7/16" fine thd X 1-7/16" long. Wrench size: bolt head- 3/4", nut- 5/8". Could be wrong, but it looks like it's the original bolt. Reminds me of a body-bound industrial coupling bolt.

Picked these two guys up today, did anyone ever come to a conclusion on the maker?

They struck me as very similar to a Huot box I have, but once I had them side by side I'm pretty sure they aren't a match.

Interestingly, the one on the right had some automotive paperwork that showed these were actually owned by someone who lived in Owatonna, so that's kinda neat.

i picked up a couple of new old stock OTC goodies this weekend, thought I'd share.

TC-7 thread chaser set. 7 split dies and handle (still wrapped). digging that beautiful blue krinkle paint on the box!!
circa late 40s.

second is a no. 887 chain wrench in cardboard/plastic blister pack. the style of packaging leads me to believe it is not that old. but there is no date anywhere on it.

Found this OTC combo wrench at the flea market yesterday.

I have no idea it’s age but after reading through some sticky threads here and that alloy-Artifacts website it seems like combo wrenches were released in an era well after some of companies were formed.

Then again I’m just starting to learn about vintage tools, so I have no idea.

I found an old picture I took a few months back when I got some otc sockets that looked an awful lot like snap on to my untrained eye

I came across an OTC 3/4 Drive set today. Sockets from 15/16” to 2 3/8” 2 breaker bars and 1 OTC ratchet. The one breaker bar is a MAC 28” and the other is an OTC 21”. As well the OTC ratchet is 21” and a female style ratchet. The OTC adapter goes from a 1 1/2” hex to a 3/4 square.

Hi Again: I found these in the 1941 OTC Catalog. The numbers match what I have on the tools. However the ratchet I have is female and the ratchet they show is male which leads me to believe at least the ratchet is older that 1941. My guess would be the late 20’s early 1930’s….

Here are a couple I have that are readily accessible:
1/2 Speeder, 38 ratchet non reversable with plug, very large engine piston ring spreader.

My father-in-law worked at OTC for almost 40 years. He designed many of the tools you see. I now have what is left of his. I will try and upload a few shots. Many of them were sold at yard sale before I could get to them. He had about 5 chest full. I was not able to get a chest. Just pieces of some tools. I am in Arizona. Maybe you are looking for something I have.
