So, I really need to clean up my GS finds a bit sooner. As noted above, this box find was early April. In searching my SK list, I had a 45170 ratchet, but it was an SK Wayne. Oh well, maybe later.Picked this box up the first weekend of April, but didn't get around to sorting out the contents til today. The set description will take a minute or three to figure out, as I need to verify 97 pages of posts. Or the East Bay magnetic anomaly known as D^4 will probably chime in with the answer before I'm off page 2.
I gravitated towards the box because I love this shade of blue, both for toolboxes (and old Mustangs), real easy to find stuff in, easy on the eyes, etc. The box itself is 11-3/16 x 3-7/16 x 1-1/2", and the contents included a knurled set of 3/16 - 1/2" 1/4" drive sockets (40906 - 40916), missing 5/16 and 11/32, which I appear to have matches for in the garage. Also included was 3/8 - 11/16" (45112 - 45124) missing 1/2 and 3/4", plus the 1/4" adapter. This has the divided rail to hold the 3/8" drive, and I swear Don just posted that, so shouldn't take too long to find. (I was wrong) Also, this has the triangle logo riveted to the lid, and I thought someone said that was post war for only a year or so. Guess I was remembering wrong. Yup, Don's guess was 1961 or so. Thanks for adding the contents link too.
Once I get the set figured out, will try to put a few more pieces inside

It looks like a circle spring clip holding the ratchet head in place. A couple of small straight picks should take it apart. Be careful as too much spread will make the clip lose its tension.
Does anybody have any experence on how to do maintenance on this type of ratchet?
Those early models are sealed and not rebuildable.
I can help with the 3/4” socket and likely the extension if you like. I owe you some tools. So, I really need to clean up my GS finds a bit sooner. As noted above, this box find was early April. In searching my SK list, I had a 45170 ratchet, but it was an SK Wayne. Oh well, maybe later.
Back on March 26, I posted a small Craftsman box of Misc Sockets. While digging thru them last night, I noticed a 45159 SK 1.5" extension, missing on the list from the Fall Special noted up thread. Then, I was moving some Nicholson files from another box into the Boggs pile, and noticed a ratchet at the bottom of the box, found on Jan 21, and just set aside due to rainy weather. This ratchet is old enough to still have the patent # on it, from Feb 1941, so might be a bit new for this box, but I'm running with it. The Wayne would fit too, but oh well, a bit later.
Then, back to my inventoried list, I have the 5/16 and 11/32 in the right knurling, and the 1/2", but the chrome is kinda weak. And I have 2 4426 Spark Plug sockets (can only find one right now, no foam insert), but none with the -s. Does anyone know what the 4426-s has that makes it different from the 4426?
So yeah, almost there, completely off random finds so far. My hopes of finding the right spinner, without it being a stinky bit of rubble are slim to none (found a Wright a HJE, maybe I'll get another). Adding the 6" extension and 3/4" 45124 to my Denver shopping list.
Next up, a bath for everything.
I’ll get back to you later, thanks for the offer.I can help with the 3/4” socket and likely the extension if you like. I owe you some tools
