Found this listed in eastern Nebraska... thought someone on this thread might be interested. I am not near this item or able to assist in purchasing.

I found another early patent mottled finish 3/8” drive ratchet at an estate sale this morning. I don’t believe that it was ever chrome plated.

What’s the mottled finish. I have one like that. I thought it was cadmium plated.

Not Exactly sure of all the content this chest is supposed to have originally but I feel it’s getting fairly close to having all of its original tools… And for all of this only costing around 200-225$ at pawn shops and preowned stores maybe the you **** cost but IDK

Nice complete set from ‘46 to around ‘52. Looks like the 7/16” six point is an extra. It’s great that you have the crossbar.
-Don

Thanks. It came to me with the extra six-point, so I keep it in there, but it doesn’t fit in the socket section.

Found this set thrown in a box at a car boot sale, maybe the UJ is missing. £10 - English pounds Sterling. Yellow socket is a Duro (Chome, Indestro ?). A couple of Double square sockets. Some sockets not marked S.K. but had pop marks and 40** numbers. Cleaned the surface rust from the box, solid underneath. Ratchet very good.
Sold it later on and regret it now.

Whoa! That's a great find. Probably some lend/lease tools. Rare to find nearly a complete set of that age still in tact especially across the pond.

That is an interesting set. I suspect that Username is right about it being lend/lease. You should be able to source a replacement S-K branded ratchet. I would like to see a side view of all of the sockets, if possible. I would expect all of the drive tools to be unmarked. The replacement ratchet could look like the one below.

It looks like your sockets are a bit of a mix of everything that S-K was producing at the time. You have some Chrome Alloy, some Carb o Mang (I think) and several regular S-K sockets.
