The first time I found a wartime 3/4” drive extension, I was surprised to see the dual detent balls which was a feature I had never noticed. I checked my 3/4” drive Chrome Alloy tools that were made by S-K and sure enough they all had the dual detent balls as well. It seems to be a feature of all the early S-K 3/4” drive tools.😳

Thanks, JoCo. The groove joint pliers came out of the evaporust yesterday and are a little more presentable. I found this huge unmarked extension that looks S-K. The odd thing about it is the two retaining balls on the drive end. Has anyone run across this before?

I checked my 3/4” drive Chrome Alloy drive tools (made by S-K) and sure enough both extensions and the sliding tee have the two ball drives. I can’t believe that I never noticed before.

Here is where I first noticed the dual retaining balls on 3/4” drive S-K tools.

Don, my extension and socket read SK Chrome, not SK Chrome Alloy. Does that make them newer or older than yours? Do you have any that don't say Alloy?

S-K Chrome are their premium tool tool line immediately prewar. The Chrome Alloy marked tools were often sold in Brazil or other secondary line sets. They could have been made at the same time but it’s difficult to know for sure. Here is my S-K Chrome 1/2” drive socket set.

Here is a somewhat similar Chrome Alloy (Brazil) 1/2” drive socket set along with some extras.IMG_6987.jpeg

Not super vintage....
But, I will post anyway.

One of my favorite Flea Market sellers saved these SK combos for me 👍
Of course, the 11/16 is missing...

Kind of cool since I have three of the small ones 3/8 - 1/2

The Proto Professional fills a hole and the MAC is a bonus

My recent SK Chrome finds inspired me to move my mismatched 'set' of 3/4" stuff into a not-quite-old-enough SK box. Unfortunately, someone painted it a sort of Powr-Kraft tan a long time ago, but the inside still shows that beautiful green.

What is the longest dimension people need? That will tell us what size printer to use.
I can get on that as soon as I’m back from vacation unless Don or one of the guys has measurements handy. I’m surprised no one has jumped on this as a side hustle.

A few acquisitions from the previous 2 weekends ES and GS finds.

(2) SK 6914 7/16 punches (think newer), 40962 6" 1/4" drive extension , 40961 2" 1/4" drive ext., No. 7610 9" locking pliers, very heavy, almost Malco weight, will compare them to VG sizes later and update.

I think I picked up 5 or 6 pairs of locking pliers recently, but SK, who could leave that behind for a few $$.

I like to use LAVA hand soap as a first-step cleaner (sometimes). A toothbrush makes a really good scrubber, if you use scissors to make the bristles shorter. When you're done rinsing the soap off, the wrench will shed water. I think it's lanolin, or somethin' they put in the soap to make your hands soft.

Might try tub of towels or goop wipes. Those are 2 of my go to’s. Generally I’ll hit things with wd-40 or brake parts cleaner first.
