Here's a vintage S-K whatzit:

I did a quick Google search. S-K doesn't list this tool by the part #. I'm guessing a flare nut wrench of some sort? It might kinda' ratchet in a pipe-wrench fashion.

The only thing I know is that it isn't worth $20 to me--but they have about a half-dozen different sizes, all the same individual pricing.

Yep, Sourced from Imperial by SK, - I hadn't seen an SK stamped one, but these are really good flair ratchet/wrenches. I have more than a a set of these.

I hope you didn't pay 19 bucks! :ROFLMAO:

That's cool looking.

If the interrogator wandered over with that I'd speak up in a hurry.

Get real! I rarely need a flare nut wrench, and never need a $19 "surplus" one!

This is at one of my local haunts. He sells used, salvage and overstock stuff. Sometimes, I think he just sees something like "S-K" and prices by that.

Kinda cool still, just not $19 worth of cool.

Well I guess that depends on how much you will actually use it. I wear them around and a new one is more than 19

If you want them, I can get a list next time I go down that way. I'm pretty sure they ain't jumping off the shelves at that price in a small rural community.

I reckon I can get a discount if I take them all.

I currently have the entire set. Thanks for asking though.

found this for free in a box of rust sockets, salvaged it out, missing the 3/4" socket, set SK 1101 in the 1938 catalog on ITCL. Cleaned up, a bit of some bending and straightening then painted. I have a non SK stand in for the 3/4" till I find one, I wouldn't mind but it isn't even 3/4" not that I'm using it LOL

Anyone know much about the early SK pressed steel hex ratchet? AA shows this ratchet with the SK diamond logo. This logo was trademarked around 1933 or so. I recently bought a ratchet like this, but instead of the logo it is stamped with big letters "The Sherman & Klove Co." Pics below. I'm assuming this version is before the logo in 1933? Is this SK's first ratchet & does it date to the 1920's? Is it a rare ratchet?

Nice ads 4C. Yeah, I've never seen this pressed steel SK ratchet with the large block letters "The Sherman & Klove Co."

I have a couple, both marked similarly. Pretty much look like the duro indestro economy line ratchets.

The name stamping suggests it was before the logo stamping in 1932-33 I think. So, does this ratchet date to the 20's? I guess this would be considered SK's first ratchet. It will be interesting to see how early of an ad I can find of this ratchet with the letter stamping, if those ads exist.

^ often confused with each other.

(Dunlap also produced one very similar, but it's a bit longer and has a narrower handle.)

I think everyone made a similar ratchet. Handle lock, HL, jamestown ny early twenties is the earliest I have. They were bought out by new britain machine.

^ Right. "Handle Lock" made one as well.
I do not believe that Mr. Lauver ever included "Dunlap" in his OEM list - I don't think anyone has any idea who made that ratchet for Dunlap, which evolved in design over the years (as Don's examples show.)

Nice grab. Lots of cool stuff. I took a look at that lot but it looked like it was mostly duplicates for me. I’ve been collecting the wartime stuff for quite a while.

Yup I have extras as well. The drop front chest was new to me, and I don't mind some extras!

Here is the first one I found simply marked 105 which is the S-K part number. Back in the beginning of S-K they mostly made contract tools.IMG_2623.jpeg
I’ve since found an S-K 105 marked one to go with it.

I spotted a 105 ratchet in this Fulton set on eBay this morning. IMG_4502.jpeg

Seriously, for that rack I'd line them up in the rack by size, leaving appropriate gaps for known gaps, and you should be ably to sort out close to what's MIA

Found at half price day, how many are in full set?
errrr...... those are not S-K, they are "Chromium Vanadium", manufactured by Indestro, and they were probably sold through either Montgomery Ward or Western Auto.
Size on the 1/2" drive 12-points went from 7/16" - 1-1/4" (by 16ths) and the set most likely included 19/32", 21/32", and 25/32" sizes.
Replacements should be available in the second-hand market. They made millions of them.
