This Lincoln Engineering lube station was saved from the scrap heap. Can anyone tell me more about it? Not sure its fate as of yet. Maybe a restoration? not sure.

Anyone have this unit or similar styled "old school" service station gear in your garage?

Pretty cool. There are a few other posts here about similar lube stations and work stations. Another brand was Alemite, you can use the search function to find other posts about them.

You will have to tie up a bit of money into that thing to get it all restored properly. Once you do you will be very happy you did. Collectors pay some big big money for those when they are done. Congrats to you for getting it!

If you are close to Houston I'll help you decide what to do with it by taking it off your hands for a decent price!!!

Don't Restore it!!(yet) That is the last resort. It looks like it is in good condition. Needs a good (gental) cleaning and detailing first. Inside and out top to bottom. once that is done, you will know the condition and can decide to restore it or not. Survivor antiques in the automotive field are much more valuable and sought after than restored items. That goes for cars and tools and just about everything. They are only original once. I don't care how good someone is a making something look "distressed" or "make it look old", you can not replace patina. Age is the only thing that does that.
That would look great in my shop by the way.

I'd restore it to like new condition. Garage items are different than antique furniture. Just look at the price of gas pumps unrestored vs. restored. Your looking at a few hundred vs. a few thousand for a restored pump.

I'd restore that Lube Station to like new condition, then use it. Look at the restorations that Don Long has done on his Alemite Station and the work that BB767 has done on, well..... practically everything.

Show that Lube Station the new life it deserves and forget the damn "patina". In like new condition with all of the grease guns with it, especially if they are original to it, once restored it will be worth a few thousand dollars. Look at what ECO Air Stations are worth once restored.

I rest my case, and let the pics speak for themselves. Just ask Tom and Don what they would do with it if they had it. I'm fairly certain it would most likely look BETTER than new!!!!

100 bucks ? Really ? What's the catch ? It's now buried in a sinkhole? Surrounded by rabid dogs ? Maybe It was recovered from a nuclear blast site ?

Sadly, a few bad eggs spoiled the rest of the chicken. So, the post limit became necessary. Hang in there, you'll get there.

I'd be in the same boat, like it but no room for it. I'd look it over to see if I could remove the back panel (leave the front in tact) pull out the reservoirs inside and add some drawer sliders inside and make a dual bank tool box out of it. You could turn the top deck around so if faces the front (the old back). The innards and rear panel could be stored in an attic etc. but the piece would be functional so the space it took up wouldn't be a problem. Then if someone came along with the right amount of cash you could switch it back and sell it off for good money if still desired.

Man am I disappointed :dunno::dunno::dunno:

Are you sure that you won't ship it
N.J. is too far for me to drive but I would be happy to cover all costs involved

Kevin posted the before and after pic's of my alemite work station and your greaser would surely fit in to my old texaco station with my Alemite

Please reconsider

Don Long
PS you would need to build a rough crate of some type

Who knows?
Good GRIEF! $100 bucks for that? What a freaking steal. I hope someone here gets it.

x2 on letting don long buy it. Anyone know if the LTL truck carriers offer a crating service prior to shipping? I bet they do. SHouldn't be a big deal to load that bad boy up and palletize it. I would ship the grease guns and any other detachable parts seperately though.
