I have several boxes of tools from my grandfather. I'm sure I will have questions on quite a few tools since I am just starting to sort through them. On top was a snap-on gm-70n quarter inch ratchet. I don't see screws to take it apart and it is missing the selector. Can I get parts and rebuild it?

I'm not familiar with the smaller stap on style ratchets so I can't advise on the rebuild... but I will say that all of us on the forum love seeing people share info and pictures of their grandparents tools! So Keep them coming!

Its from about 1940. There would not be a kit for it. It has a fitted faceplate, that snaps into the head. To remove it, hit the socket top of the wheel with a brass hammer until the faceplate just pops out, fill it with penetrating oil first and let it sit before the hammer part. (also it maybe best to have it in a plastic bag while you pound on it, so you will not have any parts flying around) you can use a vise with alum. to fit the faceplate back on.

Yes, post some more pics of your tools.

Thanks everyone. I did not think it would be worth rebuilding, but I am rather sentimental. I think I will see what I can do by soaking it, and then just put it away.

FWIW, I just went thru this yesterday. My Par-X 1/4 drive had been dead for a while waiting to catch up with the truck. I really thought it was toast. Lube was all it took. He pulled it apart and checked the teeth anyway and it was perfect! Told me to dunk it in ATF every so often. I felt like an idiot.
