Hi everyone.. I’m trying to find out what this tool is. It was one of many older tools my Dad had. I’ve asked around with no luck. Hoping someone on this forum might know. Thanks in advance.

What does that tag say at the front of the machine? You can see where it has a pulley attached. Likely was driven by an electric motor. Looks similar to some metal shaping machinery but not exactly. Similar to a helve hammer. Likely it does a specific task. What that is? IDK.

If you don't get an answer try joining allmetalshaping.com. Lot of members there have a lot of knowledge about various esoteric machines. Likely someone there could give you an answer.

Might have better luck on the vintage tool forum.

That oval Craftsman logo on the front might make it easy to do a catalog search ( crud, just realized I have the catalog collection, and can look later.)

His looks like an earlier version to me. Underline C vs Heritage. The vertical adjustment was changed at some point. This is just a guess.

There are some real gems among older tools. If you can share a photo, someone here might recognize it right away.

So this is the type of saw were someone complains about how dangerous Radial Arm Saws are, and then you “Wait, Hold My Bear”, and pull out the Swing Saw ?
