Oh I could hold a wedding in my garage - no problem! Of course the Minister, Bride, Groom and two witnesses would be a little cramped.

I love the reflection in this shot. Beautiful finish on the whole bench.

And of course on your build thread, you need photos of the garage in action, even if it is a wedding. That is not something everyone here can do in theirs!

This is a cool post. I'm new here still so I am drifting around looking at various stuff. I would love to have one of those stations for my new garage addition. I found one that was painted up as dodge bros. at mecum auction this past spring. I would hate to see what it brought. It was very nice! On the bucket list to buy!!:)

Don, She's a beauty and you have done a great job on the restoration. Are you still planning to put something in the large white area on the front of the bench?

That would look good! Also, I could almost envision "Long's Garage" in beautiful script hand painted on it. Maybe with some light and simple pinstriping along the top and about 1/2 to 3/4 of the way down both sides.

Awesome before and after shots, Don. Was that chrome on it and painted over when you first bought it, or is all that new as well?

I am new on this site, so not sure if I am doing this the right way, but I do have an alemite cabinet for sale, the only thing it is missing is some trim. Anyone interested let me know on this site.

THanks for the positive feedback
the station and bench had holes where the chrome strips went so I made up some and put them on
really spiced it up I think

Vintage Work Bench obsession

Well I haven't found one for sale close to home but I have been collecting pieces. I ordered some 4" hemispheres from King Architectural Metals and some thin wall 4" tubing my local metal supplier. Going to make a cabinet for my riding gear hoping to make it look like an Alemite. I've been scavenging pieces to dress it up when I get it finished.

Probably going to visit my customer that has the unfinished restoration, Alemite cabinet in his garage tomorrow and raise my offer. I'm really hoping he's board with it.:D

MAN! Love to find one within driving distance! They are hard to find, saw one in PA, but it was 2500 and shipping it home is hard on me.

I wish I had the space and money. If so I would head to St.Louis tomorrow to buy myself a Christmas present! I'm glad the Craigslist link to the Graco unit I posted got added to this thread. Hopefully somebody on here picks it up and restores it.

I don't have the space or money but I really want it. Hopefully it will be gone in the morning. Thanks for posting the link.

Now why did you have to post that Craigslist ad? Just last night I showed my wife a picture of Don Long's Alemite set up and now there's one within driving distance! Unfortunately the funds ad a little low or that baby would be in my garage! If someone on here ends up with it, please post something as I would love to see it in person.

Congratulations Jeremy!

We expect a new thread on fetching it, restoring it, and setting it up in it's new home.

It has been a long day, a little under 600 miles round trip. The cabinet is sitting in the trailer in the drive way. I'll post some pictures of it tomorrow after I clean it up a bit.
Mizzoutiger, thanks for pointing it out.

Looking forward to doing the restoration on the Graco. Guess I'll start thread on it once I get started. Right now I'm checking on what it is going to cost to get it blasted.

A pair of alemite Cabinets without benches have been listed on eBay.

They are not the nice black and yellow one on the first picture:-(. It appears they are going to sell one at a time.
