seller had painted it with house paint:headscrat it hid some slight damage that wouldn't have mattered to me:( in the pics i highlighted the logo and number that are on it. i have since stripped the paint and repainted it. it is still drying and i'll show it when i get it back together.

thanks jim

Dunno. I saw one that was a 4"er the other day, exact same vise except it had a "4" on the side, and I was wondering the same thing. There was no country of origin on it, either.

What kind of paint you use on that? I got an old Morgan I have been thinking about restoring but I use it all the time. I am afraid paint would not hold up on it.

i used rustoleumspray can hammered black. it may or may not hold up to use but it's a tool so it will be beat on.
