Yes guys that vise is a vise you do not see every day. First one I ever seen. Would love to restore that one if the jaws were trash. Check out this next one. Todd from the Tool Archives might be interested in this one.

Kevin, I ran into a near perfect Simplex 61 CP It's upside down but son as I turn it over, I'll give you the specs. I did weigh the static and dynamic separately as I struggled to get them out of the trunk, The static with base was 83 and the dynamic was 71. I'll send you more photos when I can get it sitting straight. This photos were before I wanted to take off the base nut.

Sterling 28. 5" jaws that opens to 7" and weights 52lbs.

A note from a GJ Member mentions.

I believe your vise is a 100ish yr. old "un-branded" no. 28, manufactured by the Fulton Machine and Vise Co. I also think that the Sterling and Peerless models are the same as well.

Kevin would you add one For the Record?

Leavens Mfg. "Jersey Vise", Number 53, Baker patent Vise #877,695 -

3" jaws, opens 3" weight 8lbs. 9ozs.
A "3" is visible on the anvil with the weight would make it a No.53
Advertised as having a Brown Japanned finish.

Whoops looks like big picture
A 1" piece of Tiger Claw (Insulation Support) should fit the bill for a new pin.
A year & 3/4 later the pin it was bought with reinstalled. :)

Sure Grip. 4" anvil vise with adjustable jaws that opens to 10" and weights 40lbs. Owner notes that a date of 1899 is stamped. Might be a patent number.

Thanks Jeff. Got the Parker jaws and all others figured out.

Kevin, found this brochure that has that vise in it.

Thanks FMC for the brochure. You know I am finding the more I work on the Spreadsheet the more work there is to do. I am really enjoying working on it and I use it everyday. Thanks for letting me work on your creation. Kevin

Columbian 604. 4-1/4 jaws that opens to 6-1/2 and weights 40lbs. First generation Columbian.

Note from GJ member. Fierljeppen

Thanks for your knowledge Fierljeppen and adding early catalog pages. We all appreciate it.

That's a 1st generation Columbian, probably pre-1915. I found a 1918 ad of a 2nd gen Columbian for comparison. 3rd gen was the "T" style jaws around 1925.

That's one of the oldest Columbian vises I've seen.
