Thanks Maico, sure have given me a bunch of work to do. I still have not added your other European vises to the sheet yet. Do you know if the older ones are the same as these newer Bison Vises?

The Leinen style rear jaw type appear to have been made by Bison for many years judging by all the old ones that turn up on Polish ebay.

Here's a miniature one that surprised me....of continental appearance but made in England

Yes, it's bulky but handles a 50lb vise pretty easy. Wish I had more pic:s.

wow what a monster ... the Parker 978 I had with it's pretty substantial base was also 297 lbs, so for a stationary that is a chunker for sure
