BCZ: i hope you are able to finish that Moxon wood vise and show us how you use yours. here's a few YouTube videos i found to see how it is made and used because i was wondering how to use it with only two hands.
drives,
Your first YouTube link shows how it works.
Secure it to the bench with dogs or clamps.
Set one side to the material thickness and then the other side for clamping the work piece.
Then just saw or plane or work on the work piece.
Easy peasy!
BTW, Today is the day to get the hardware. ENCO is having a 25% off and free shipping sale if you use the two coupon codes. They have the hand wheel, nuts, washers and ACME threaded rod (3/4x6). 3' of threaded rod (RH thread) will make two sets, so make one wide vise and one narrow, or make one for a friend.
The expensive part is the ACME 3/4x6 two part (Rough and finish) tap that you need. Also need a few drills, including the right one for the tap.
All this is less than half the cost of the Bench crafted kit, although the hand wheels aren't dished like the kit has, and the ACME thread is 6 instead of the kits 10.
