Wagos are gaining ground in the UK, they are quick easy and ideal for lazy electricians. We had a fad of push in wiring in flourescent light fittings in the eightiew and nineties, and ambient heat inside the fitting causes the springs to fail and the light goes out! on the spring only wagos ambient heat will do the same and they will fail within an unknown timeframe, likely around 10 years, and of course, depending on the current they are carrying, houses will burn. Same applies to the lever ones, which rely on plastic to keep the joint tight, and when all the plasticiser has leached away, and the lever and housing becomes brittle, failure and fire will result. The UK outlawed wire nuts of all types in the 1950's. As I'm sure you all know, you can't beat a tight screw! We were taught at college and on the job to tighten screws "till the brass squeaked" problem is today that most electrical fttlings used brassed steel screws, with fine threads which often fail before reaching the tension that the coarse threaded brass ones could apply . Lowering standards always causes problems, and I for one am really glad to have retired from the industry!
