first time post but long time reader. I have acquired a walker 882 2 ton series B floor jack as a project but is not here yet. After reading many posts, a question I have is what size socket is needed to remove the large nut holding the hydraulic unit together or is it a special tool? Thanks for any help. Paul

I'm not sure which nut you are referring to, but I would think you should try using a large adjustable wrench first ala harbor freight. You could always use a cheater bar with it if necessary. All this depends on how far you need to go to get it back in shape. Mine is a Walker 884.

Be very nice to the forward nut that holds the fluid tank tight. over 400 foot pound of torque and that nut is getting hard to find

The jack made to the house this AM. No front or top covers and lots of dirt, grease and rust. Sprayed PB blaster on it. I took photos but will have to learn how to post them. Still has faint hints of blue paint in places. Nice art deco lines.

Good afternoon,
I have worked on the jack. The rear rears now roll and turn, I am trying to get one side off to free the cylinder and my question is on the area of the front axle shaft there is a rivet that goes through the side plate and secures the axle. Since this is peened over, do you have to grind it off? Thanks all
