I was giving someone some info on overhead doors & started to wonder if there was a way to move the automatic door openers. They are not usually a problem being up at the ceiling, but I have a lift & was worried about clearance when I get around to installing an opener one day. I found this searching on line & thought I'd share. It may only work on a Wayne Dalton door with a certain spring system, so check first.

Wall-mounted door opener
Looking for simpler installation? Now there's the idrive, which mounts on the wall above the garage door, eliminating the belts, chain, screw drive and track that used to clutter a garage ceiling. Made by Wayne Dalton, this opener is the first of its kind; it's quieter than any chain drive opener, uses 50 percent fewer parts to install, and comes with a Life of Home warranty, a wireless security light and an optional keyless entry pad. Price is about $400 per idrive. Call Wayne -Dalton at (800) 635-5139 or go to wayne-dalton.com.

I haven't looked into it because I'm not worried about an opener right now, but it is something I may want later on.
