Wanted: cordless tools made in USA

I strongly prefer made in the USA, but I'll bend over backwards to see that my purchases are at least made by US democratic allies whenever possible. That isn't much to ask.

Milwaukee Electric fired most of their American manufacturing workforce a few years ago. Now almost all of their tools are "Professionally Made In China" and they aren't one nickel cheaper, either. I'm done with them.

All of my recent woodworking power tool purchases have been from Festool.

You're correct. Checked the cordless stuff I got from Milwaukee and it's Chinese. Will check the breakers as soon as I am at the store. I own a rental yard and we got a large inventory of Milwaukee concrete drills. Getting kind of curious now where they are from. Seeing a large shift of quality for the last years. Even the good old Honda GX engines are not as solid as they used to be.

You want to change where the tools are made.... BUY a controlling interest in that companies stock

My snap on impacts and drills 18v just say assembled in usa. I take that to mean parts from wherever they can be made cheapest, china.

FWIW my Bosch 18v Li-Ion 1/2" drive impact wrench is "Assembled in USA"

It's an excellent quality tool too!

Hello fellow Americans who still care about America, and who care enough not sell out our children. Seems, the ignorant few infected with greed, needing that 2nd Ferrari, have finally buckled. I mean fine, do layoffs, increase prices, but don't cave. All my friends and fellow craftsmen own USA and are proud of it...
That said, I went to both Lowe's and HomeDepot to price a DeWalt Drill Driver / Impact Combo. And what I saw I could not believe my eyes: My DeWalt product? "Honcho in Mexico". "What the fk!" My last DeWalt was made here??? It was more expensive but it was made here. I bought it because it was made well and still works fine. However, I need to get an impact driver and they come with a different battery than my drill. So I wanted to give an in-law my old drill and get the combo kit. So I started looking for other kits possibly made here and felt the air leaving my soul as I was coming up dry.
Can anyone point me to some cordless tools still made here? Thanks

US made cordless tools do not exist anymore.

Last holdout was the Milwaukee original 18v stuff, and not all of it was USA, but little of it was China.

Milwaukee Electric Tools is now owned by the same company that owns Ryobi. I have not seen a M series Milwaukee tool that is NOT made in China. Production of Milwaukee corded tools has also moved to China (price stayed the same, though). Been a couple of years since the switch was done.

Makita had some corded tools made in USA, now all China. Cordless used to be Japan, now China. Been China since the indroduction of their "Blue" 18v tools (white ones used to be low cost China and blue was Japanese made pro- now it is all China)

Festool is made in Germany, with the charger made in China. Their cordless drills cost 2x-3x other cordless drills, but the Festool stuff really is made better.

USA market cordless Metabo is China, last I looked.

I do not own any Fein cordless.

Even HILTI has gone to China for cordless and some of their corded tools.

DeWalt is the closest you will get to US made... not sure where their new 20v tools come from.

The chargers for festool used to be German made.

Luckily theres Bosch and one other tool in the 18V lineup is assembled here.

"LT" and "LTX" drills should be from germany, angle grinder is from germany too.

Even HILTI has gone to China for cordless and some of their corded tools.

Hilti cordless drills are made in china in the Panasonic/Hilti joint venture factory.

not sure where their new 20v tools come from.
