So I’ve now tried every hose at both of my local box stores. All of them have either failed in some way or are a kinked up mess.

I like coilhose pneumatics hoses in the shop and love them. The don’t kink and are soft enough that they coil fast and easily. You can replace the end fittings easily and they always seal perfectly. You can also buy them in bulk and make your own. I’d like a few different length hoses but want to customize each to a length ideal to the situation. Coilhose Pneumatic does make a water hose but it doesn’t get the same reviews.

Anyone ideas?

Water hoses ****. Anything descent costs a fortune. My fron faucet is before the whole house regulator and is at about 90 psi. It kills hoses... but washes the car and driveway very well.

I have had some luck buying hoses with a Lifetime Warranty" and keeping up with the paperwork. Sometimes the clerk will ***** but will usually do it. Give it a try.

If you want the absolute best, Thermoid. They are usually found in industrial rubber fabrication houses. The hose comes in bulk and the fabrication house cuts it to length and installs the fittings. I have a couple of them. The only hose that comes close is the Craftsman USA rubber hose, but the Thermoid is in a whole 'nother league.

Bigger issue is the crappy “lead free” connections they sell which are aluminum colored like brass. Had one corrode onto a faucet after only a year. Brass never did that.

I checked Home Depot and Lowe’s and every hose had those junk connectors. Harbor freight had brass but maybe a less good hose...

This may be a California issue....

the red Goodyear ones last about 10 years in the AZ heat. That is the best I have found.

While I prefer my black Craftsman rubber hose for washing the cars, it is very heavy and I am therefore limited in how long I use on my hose reel. I like the Flexzilla for the garden and its lower weight means I can put 100' on the reel and still operate it.

The Craftsman black rubber hose is my "go to". I have ones that are over 30 years old ! Craftsman is now owned by SBD, so I don't know if they are the same.

They only down side is they leave black marks on your hands.

Not a California issue. Most hoses I see at the box store have aluminum ends.

Flexzilla hoses have aluminum ends, and yes, it will corrode onto the spigot.

Have to go back to a hose with brass ends, remove it regularly from the spigot or replace existing ends with brass.
