Howdy, this my first post. I still have to fill in my profile.Got a question though.
I have a 3 car attached garage. .
Just getting to the drywall part of the big project and was wondering if anyone has installed water proof sheet rock on at least the bottom half of the walls in their garage?

No such thing as Water-Proof sheetrock, there is water-resistant sheetrock commonly refered to as greenboard. If you need water-proof i would suggest cement fiber board

from US Gypsum's web site:

Commonly called greenboard
SHEETROCK® Brand HUMITEK® Gypsum Panels have a non-combustible, moisture and mold resistant gypsum core that is encased in a moisture-resistant, 100 percent recycled blue face and brown back papers. The panels feature tapered long edges for easy finishing. For areas not subject to excessive moisture.

DUROCK® Brand Cement Board is ideal for use in partitions, walls, floors, soffits and ceilings in wet or dry areas. The mold- and moisture-resistant board does not deteriorate in the presence of water so it is extremely durable in baths, showers, kitchens and laundry rooms. Also suitable for exterior applications such as fences, mobile home skirting, agricultural buildings, garage wainscoting and exterior finishes; adaptable for high-heat areas such as fireplace fronts and UL-listed wall shield/floor protectors.

They also make a drywall that has plastic on one side now, I forget what its called.

If you plan on spraying water around, I would go with the wonderboard type stuff used in showers, but all of them depend on something on the surface as the main barrier to water.

If you use type x, it is stronger. To improve the fire resistance, fibers are added to give it strength so it can pass a hose stream test. There is also a high impact resistant drywall available.
