I broke ground today for my 24 x 36 Pole Building. I got my building permit approved and the Electric Co-Op has been out to survey/mark the trench for the power.

I cut down a couple of trees that I didn't want on the shop perimeter and hauled them over to my burn area.

Then I ran the PTO Rototiller over the site to break up the topsoil.
Next the overburden was started to be removed. It will be mixed with my compost and will be used to level out the front yard.

I plan on having clay/sand mix brought in to build the site above grade before I sink my posts.

Moved more dirt today with the box blade; dug a stump out with the Kubota BX. Will post pics later on. Ready to bring in the sand/clay mix and build up the base in lifts. Have to rent a wacker-packer for the weekend.

Awesome :D
I'll be following this build for sure - huge rotary fan myself - own an Efini FD3S RX7 street car and currently on the hunt for another Efini RX7 to build up as a dedicated race car :)

I'll have a build thread for my garage next year when our new house build begins, but until then I'm hanging out to see more Mazda pics :)

Came home after dark today to see that the Electric Co-Op had come out and cleared the Right-of Way for the underground line from the transformer to the meter base. Too dark to take any pictures. I'll have to make sure and get my Meter Base installed this weekend so I can have power next week. :)

My Power distribution system is pretty basic:
200 Amp Service to 200 Amp Meter/Disconnect unit:
40 Amp Sub-panel to the 12 x 24 Storage Shed
200 Amp Service to the Shop

I'll post more pics of the Dueces later Vortex

Looks like you have your work cut out for you. I am in the interior finishing on my 24X30 3 bay I started a few years ago. I also have a 93 FDS3 touring in red.
I just had to seperate myself from my 82 RX7 that I had owned since 1983 due to to many projects and not enough space, time or money. Felt like I was selling a family member:(.
I will look forward to watching this project come along.

Giving up long term projects is painful. When I moved I got rid of 2 RX-4's and 3 secOnd gen RX-7's. I also sold my Stuska engine dyno to fund part of the shop build.

6" slab monolithic slab, full rebar. 12" slab sections to Mohawk lift specs (3 pads so I can go 2 post or 2 post; havent decided yet). Oh yeah ANSYS analyzed by the lead structural concrete engineer at work (To NQA1 standards) My concrete contractor thinks I'm nuts :)

Link to an overview of the project where I have worked for 9+ years:

Love the old school Rotaries.....I too had to let a mint 85 GSL-SE go at the first of this year because having too many cars and no where to park them....Living in a condo complex with a two car garage with five cars wasn't cutting it.....Go luck with the build....Here some pictures of it before it sold ....Had only 72k original miles on it......

Not alot going n this weekend, My son had Young Marines on Saturday and we babysit the grandkids today.

I did get the wiring for the meter base done enough (with the exception of the ground wore clamp that stripped out) to have the CO-OP come out and energize the panel next week.

I had 3 Tandem loads of recycled concrete brought in for the first lift after removing the overburden. This morning I spread it using the trusty orange tractor. I will bring in another 3 loads after I compact this lift.

Whiz!!!!!!
I sold the old house and shop and built a new house.
Only 2 RX-7's left and the two RX-2's

And in further developments, the CO-OP came thru and installed the meter in the meter base so I have POWER!!!!!!!!

It looks like your meter base has lugs to feed a main panel. Very similar to the base I used when I built my house. In addition to feeding the main panel it has spaces for four standard breakers on two legs. So I can (and did) feed 220 to my shop and the pool pump. A little foresight makes a big difference sometimes.

Bibs you are correct. I will have a 200amp feed to the big shop; a 40 amp subpanel in the storage shed and 120 and 220 outlets by the meter base

WHOO-HOO!!!
New tool alert!
I hate setting joist hangers, so I ordered a factory refurbed Bostich Joist Hanger Nailgun; that should speed up the joist hanger installation

Went to the lumberyard and borrowed the "widow-maker" for the weekend so I can set the roof trusses. I also boxed in the main beabs for added rigidity. Pics tonight
