I bought a 14 pc. Snap on set from the retired diesel mechanic down the street. I am quite confident i will never use them but they are cool. I thought i may use them for large square drive bolts....unless they make a tool specifically for them too.

I've seen them, but was never interested. I can see where they could be handy, but my feeling is they don't go large enough for 90% of the stuff I do.
Snap On lists theirs as going from 3/8 to 25/32 in 3/8 drive and in 1/2 drive as 7/8, 29/32, and 15/16. (Being able to quickly look up size ranges, part numbers, and set contents and set part numbers is one of the reasons I really prefer to keep tool catalogs on hand)
Personally I put 'em in with a wrench (either normal or adjustable).

I have two that sat in the tool box for 20 years unused. Then I needed to take a square pipe plug out of a manifold. The weatherhead was just the ticket!
Gotta be talkin about the fuel return on the back of the headI have a full snap-on set and use them infrequently. Several times though they have been the ONLY tool that would work for a hard to get at weatherhead fitting on a Detroit Deisel engine, when adjustable, open end, crowfoot, and so on wouldn't work.
I agree not always necessary but often appreciated, and occasionaly the perfect and only tool for the job.

They do: 8-point sockets! You must get a full set.![]()
